EzzyCarter: The IPPIS office is run by career civil servants not politicians. Corruption in Nigeria is perpetrated mainly by career civil servants as politicians don't prepare budget and even the corrupt politicians are aided and shown the nitty gritty of short changing the Nation by civil servants. Ask yourself if politicians spend 8years and leave, why is corruption persisting. |

I am only waiting to see what the Fed government will do to VC and bursary of those institutions. Note VC's appointment is federal government appointment and not ASUU. I think government should sanction those VC's involved. |

beniceangelo: Its was the IPPIS office under OAGF and their correspondence was with University authorities not with individuals (employees). https://www.nairaland.com/5808421/ippis-buhari-approves-payment-february https://www.nairaland.com/5809876/just-ASUU-rejects-buharis-condition https://thenationonlineng.net/president-orders-payment-of-adamant-ASUU-members-feb-march-salaries/amp/ https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/04/buhari-orders-immediate-payment-of-ASUU-members-salaries/amp/ https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2020/04/22/buhari-directs-payment-of-withheld-salaries-of-ASUU/amp/

The solution to all these nonsense is for the FG to privatize all tertiary institutions in the country and provide scholarship to the poor through the state governments, which in turn vet their poor indigenes that can't afford exorbitant fees. - No more strikes. - No need for IPPIS in such institutions. - Students get to graduate within the stipulated time except for self inflicted delays. - FG gets to test Undergraduates at every level just as in Jamb & WAEC, so money bags don't destroy the educational system with half baked graduates and lazy youths. - ASUU can as well acquire some tertiary institutions and implement all that they wanted or fought for all these decades.

He who comes to equity must come with clean hands. Political office holders should be remunerated via IPPIS as well. |

osazsky: IPPIS increased your takehome and reduced your dues How did that happen to you and no other person experienced such salary "boost" and "dues reductions"? Are you working or "pretending to work" in a Nigerian university as a carpenter/furniture maker (as indicated in your profile info)? What was your April salary like, compared to February and March? |

bitterpill: Not all lecturers can stomach collecting money from students.. others who cannot do that are trying their hands on other things to bolster their finances....the truth is that Univeristy lecturers earn very poorly, only the name is there. While the accountant general's ofice is busy blaming ASUU for irregularities in payments...ghost workers and others. They are just trying to divert attention away from ASUU's objections. ASUU has no access to the university treasury. ASUU's activities have always been funded by direct monthly contributions of members. ghost workers' payments are not paid into ASUU's accounts. It is the Vice chancellors and University Bursars who should be grilled concerning these accusations, not casting the mud on ASUU simply because ASUU is insisting on not wanting to be party to the gross fraud that IPPIS is being used to perpetuate. The evidences abound of indvyiduals who IPPIS' staff called to send their bank details....then get registered as staff of MDAs they do not belong to...and when salary gets paid on payday...the same individuals are mandated by the IPPIS staff to transfer a certain fraction of their received undeserved pay into the registering personnel's account. Maybe ASUU should have fought for her members' welfare instead from the outright rather than setting itself up as a defender of the masses. All I know is that when this blows over, the University system will likely end up like the public secondary and primary schools..... those who have the money ..will send their wards to private unis. Except that most private universities can hardly ever match public schools in equipment, depth and quality. Maybe in I.T and management courses you might not bother too much. But when it comes to hard sciences.... Many private Unis. can't stand. The ones who do, often have public uni staff in their employ. A much better outcome will be for ASUU to fight for salary regularisation.... and make sure payment falls in par with at least that of the most paid public employees in the country. At that level.... no staff will kill himself unnecesarliy over stipends of chasing other adjunct lectureship anywhere.... Then all ASUU members can face teaching and research which are their main duties....and ensure probity in the system... by then... students who enroll must be ready to work or get poor grades and certificate as a consequence.. afterall there'll no more be motivation to cut corners. As for the lawmakers...no problem... another election is coming... ASUU should bid their time..all those involved in this shaming will soon come for elections after Buhari leaves. That'll be the best time to pay them back in their coins... you dont need to argue with someone who you know will soon come to beg you for food. ASUU will wait for them then..let them keep standing aside now as if ASUU has no use to the Nigerian community. Cc: Edakedkay, Jolyment, coronavirus84, Racoon 1 Like |

osazsky: We know you work in a Uni. To be candid...the people responsible for the mess ASUU is being accused of currently.. only the Universities' VC is part of the profiting cabal .. in involves the registrar...bursar and other account/registry heads.. This is why the OAGF's mudslinging is only a matter of time |
Re: Universities Presenting Names Of Dead Staff To Collect Salaries, FG Alleges by sanchemie(m): 12:00am On May 24, 2020 |
kafeii123: The union dues did not reduce. IPPIS programmed the dues to be 2% of the GROSS salary, not taking into consideration what the unions charge as dues. For example, ASUU's monthly due is 2% of basic salary and not gross as IPPIS is currently programmed to deduct... |

Re: Universities Presenting Names Of Dead Staff To Collect Salaries, FG Alleges by kafeii123: 6:54am On May 24, 2020 |
sanchemie: This is good... By the time they return part of the 2% after deducting ASUU's 2% basic due...the increment will be more. Some ASUU members are complaining of not seeing the effect of the new minimum wage adjustments... Hopefully these will correct that. |
