For such a considerable number of staff members to be affected in this way it means the company failed to put in the right procedures to protect its staff. Either that or the spreader was very careless

To be honest, we can end lockdowns, and allow the COVID to spread well well. Most people will recover anyway.

But the reason why it is being blown this out of proportion is because in that circumstance, the seriously sick among the COVID suffers will overwhelm the available medical facilities.

Take the US for example. It is estimated that if there are no restricitons, over 10million americans would be infected, 1 million out of that number would be severely ill.

The problem is, the US has about 950000 available hospital beds. The 1 MILLION severely ill would use up all those beds, and some would still have no where to sleep.

This means that people with other illnesses, serious ones, won't find space in hospital, and would die at home...or get disabilites, putting more strain on the health system.

And of course, the economy would be affected.

Imagine that in Nigeria. (In Liberia, during the last ebola outbreak, all the hospital beds in that country were occuped by Ebola patients, meaning pateints with other illnesses could not be treated, and many of them died. In addtion to those who died from Ebola.).

That's why a big fuss is being made. We cannot afford a full blown covid crisis.

I suppose this may not be fair enough for the victims.. Having known the kind of society we found ourselves.. The workers in this company might be facing some odd and ill approaches from family members, friends and the society.. The government would have been fair enough to just isolate them without this pubication..funny enough, all the staff of the said company will be in the same realm of stigmatization.

Numbers are going up because in a way testing is picking up those who are sick.

The problem is, loosen the lockdown, and instead of ,. say 100000 people infected, we might get up to ten times that.(The numbers are estimates, for illustrative purposes only).

Hopefully, in the end, I forsee loosening of the lockdown, with more widespread hygeinc practices, and mask wearing. Washing hands is going to be more common for one.

My people pls help a brother. My family was hit badly by Covid 19 pandemic. I have a young family of 2 little kids & was placed on compulsory leave without pay at my workplace since march. They have been quarantined, the company has been shut down and they're conducting contact tracing. The government is supposed to make an announcement.
