Wike: 60% Of COVID-19 Cases In Rivers Are Oil Workers by valentineuwakwe(op): 11:35pm On May 20, 2020
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has stated that 60 per cent of coronavirus cases recorded in the state are from oil workers returning from rigs.

Governor Wike disclosed this when the Management Team of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited paid him a courtesy visit at Government House Port Harcourt.

He stated that it is for this reason that the state government has insisted that oil workers coming into the state must be tested to confirm their coronavirus status.

The Rivers state Governor also said that the Nigeria Air Force Base, Port Harcourt, recently quarantined 14 oil workers out, which three tested positive, just as he commended Exxon Mobil for their gesture.

“Just yesterday the Nigerian Air Force base quarantined 14 oil workers. Three of them tested positive for COVID-19. You see, those who come from the rig contributes to 60 per cent of the cases we have recorded in this state.

He has no constitutional right to lockdown the oil sector, highest he can do is to insist on testing upon their return from the rigs, if negative they are released to go home.
Re: Wike: 60% Of COVID-19 Cases In Rivers Are Oil Workers by LaIabobo: 4:53am On May 21, 2020
People keep exposing themselves needlessly, and they are mostly the only ones being tested in River State.

Are other specific sectors being tested too?? what what percentage of oil workers are positive??

Mr demolisher should stop whining, expect if he wants the Govt to shut down the Oil sector completely.

Re: Wike: 60% Of COVID-19 Cases In Rivers Are Oil Workers by Globad(f):
A statement that is misleading.

What percentage of being tested are oil workers?

You have a policy that all oil workers coming in must be tested. So what do you expect?

Try and increase testing in Rivers and let it cover all bus drivers, for example, and you will see a difference.

The truth is that many people have had COVID-19 in Nigeria but treated it on their own.

Do not worry, covid-19 will not last because it is a made-in-China disease. Chinese products are fake and do not stand the test of time. Meanwhile, I am very sure that you would like to be making more than N2M per plot from Ibeju Lekki estates. For details, click on the links on my signature.

This man has established himself as a tyrant and a despot in the political sphere.

His political career has been tainted by that singular act of demolishing the 2 hotels.

You don't pay evil with evil so publicly especially if you are a public figure...

Anyway, what do i know!
It is well...
