Good day ladies and gents,

Advise needed, I want to buy a tv, did some research and found TCL 4k Android Smart UHD Edgeless TV which meets my spec and budget. It consumes about 135w at full blast. Is it advisable to purchase it considering I plan to install 5KW inverter.

Also I had in mind to purchase an inverter friendly fridge, but unfortunately the LG fridge model JUO mentioned he bought for 80k and consumes 30w is currently out of stock. In fact, after he mentioned it I searched online and found it on jumia around 130K, but when I was ready to purchase, it was out of stock on jumia and konga. Please advise next possible option.

It seems many people are following this thread silently, and acts on any information posted here. grin

A TV at that power consumption is not what I would buy o. My 51" LG TV does about 30w on medium energy saving and 50w on no saving. As to fridge am also hunting for a budget friendly on but my current 10 years old fridge does between 50 and 80w

I like a charger that I can adjust. Are you too balancing your LFP? This charger appear very versatile and can be used as a power supply too. How steady are the output voltage?

From 1A to 50A. The 12v voltage can be adjusted from 2.7 to 14.7v while the 24v can do 18v to 29.4

Quite useful for occasional balancing which is one of the reasons I got it. The other reason is to be able to charge at varying amperage to accommodate low voltage phcn and generator capacity scenarios. Voltage is quite steady have used it just a few hours though....will see how it goes

The TCL that consumes 135w at full blast may be okay on only one condition: if it has "energy saving" option. With that option, once activated, the consumption may drop to as low as 25 watts depending on the size of the TV. 55 inch Hisense smart that is 125 watts at max consumption drops to around 25 watts at highest power saver. I use 60% power saver and that consumes around 30 watts. The remaining 100 watts can better be channelled to powering other vital appliances instead of just wasting it on TV alone.

PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THAT TV (ANY TV FOR THAT MATTER) WITHOUT BEING SURE OF THE POWER SAVER OPTION. Better still if you have a wattmeter handy at the point of purchase to determine the consumption at different scenarios.

I know most large screen LG, Samsung and Hisense have that option. But I can't tell for TCL since it is a new brand trying to penetrate the Nigerian market.

I use TCL 43"Ultra HD Android TV 2019 model.Energy consumption is 98watts at full blast. It has options for energy savings,I have not bothered checking to know what the consumption is at low or medium energy.I will check tomorrow.

What's the size of the TV? Model number? Price too.

You will only be able to objectively tell the effectiveness of the "power saver" if you have it plugged into a wattmeter while you activate the option. In the absence of a wattmeter, you may subjectively be able to tell by the longer backup time of your battery.

It's good to know that TCL has that option. I have been wary of non-popular names in TV since when I purchased a 42 inch LED TV-decoder combo startimes. It consumed 69 inches and it had no power saver! I mean what nonsense was that? Even an 11 year old 32 inches LG LCD has power saver. Stuck with if for almost a year, I had to gift it out when I couldn't even get a buyer for it.
