A TV at that power consumption is not what I would buy o. My 51" LG TV does about 30w on medium energy saving and 50w on no saving. As to fridge am also hunting for a budget friendly on but my current 10 years old fridge does between 50 and 80w

10 yr fridge?

It's good to know that TCL has that option. I have been wary of non-popular names in TV

This tv is very popular outside of Naija. In fact in places like North America, TCL is the popular choice for most people.

I did not in anywhere mentioned I bought my fridge for 80k

Please don't be offended, I must have mixed it with Namzy's Hisense Deep Freezer price.

However the fridge is off the market now.

The TCL that consumes 135w at full blast may be okay on only one condition: if it has "energy saving" option. With that option, once activated, the consumption may drop to as low as 25 watts depending on the size of the TV. 55 inch Hisense smart that is 125 watts at max consumption drops to around 25 watts at highest power saver. I use 60% power saver and that consumes around 30 watts. The remaining 100 watts can better be channelled to powering other vital appliances instead of just wasting it on TV alone.

PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THAT TV (ANY TV FOR THAT MATTER) WITHOUT BEING SURE OF THE POWER SAVER OPTION. Better still if you have a wattmeter handy at the point of purchase to determine the consumption at different scenarios.

I know most large screen LG, Samsung and Hisense have that option. But I can't tell for TCL since it is a new brand trying to penetrate the Nigerian market.

I believe it should have, my search on google showed it among the least power guzzlers in test done

55" 4K UHD Smart TV | TCL C6 Series |
I read it is more energy efficient than the previous C5 series.

What can you deduce from this specs

Power Consumption (TV On) 140W
Power Consumption (Standby) ﹤0.5W
ECO Energy Efficiency Yes
Backlight Adjustable Yes (0~100)

It is the cheapest, others - Sony and Samsung are between 30% - 50% higher in price

Also TV is on J U M I A so going with a watt meter to test is not possible.

The 12v would have been of more use to me for Top Balancing. Too bad I missed out. Can you kindly share the link?

Yes if your system is 12v but if 24v then the 24v serves better

For top balancing you don't even need it at 12v, you need the top volts of individual cells which is about 4.2v depending on owner.

As the 12v charger could be adjusted from 1v upwards that was what made it the only option for the top balancing.

You never still share the link though.

Oh okay you meant top balancing a single cell, I thought you meant for the battery bank. Fyi the 12v can be adjusted from 2.9v not from 1v

For top balancing, you connect all the cells in parallel and charge them to full. That way they all attain full volts the same time time and stay there.

I know it's from probably 2.5v but even the 24v charger doesn't do that na. Thanks for the link though. With the shipping I'm seeing so you sure say you make any cash at all so? Well, good to have humanitarians like you around. Na to organise award give you for end of the year grin grin grin

Yes I see your point on that, but there is also the situation where you already have a bank and want to let your internal BMS do the balancing but due to the low current of most of them, charging at low current will also be important... Though that takes longer process but may be the only option for those that don't want to decouple. On the other note, cumulative shipping reduces as you increase quantity.

You sure about this cumulative shipping so? Except you don't use the AliExpress recommended shipping methods oo.

Yesterday I was browsing around them, saw an item with like $1 shipping, no wahala. As I dey increase the quantity e dey go up small small. I just say let me try 10 & gbam, shipping went up to above $100. Even the MakeSkyBlue MPPT, shipping for one na like $12 for two $100. Funny eh.

The way to bypass that is to pay for the items one by one. For instance, if you need 5 units, add one to cart, pay for it then add another one, pay and so on. cheesy

I'm thinking of this approach too oo. But as Ojeysky said cumulative is cheaper that's why I shock.

I do this trick too. If the cost of shipping two items is $4 and one $1.50. Be rest assured I'm buying the two in two separate orders grin grin

Funny that they still ship the two together. Lol.

I sold this Tv the following day after buying it. I found out i couldn't install PLEX when i took it home. Very nice tv though.
As others have mentioned, I look out for energy savings option AND Plex capable.

I guess they are afraid of what you can stream with PLEX, both legal and pirated contents are free game on PLEX grin
