NCDC: 12 Things To Know About How Covid-19 Tests Are Carried Out.

2. Covid 19 is identified using the PCR method by the NCDC. This is the only effective way to determine the presence of the virus in the human body.

3. An NCDC trained health worker uses a swab inserted through the nose and throat to collect samples to be tested for covid 19.

4. Once tested, the official TAT for your covid 19test results to be out is within 48-96hours.

5. Once tested, an official from the state ministry of health will contact you. Do well to provide an active phone number.

6. When your samples are taken, it is transported to a lab within the NCDC framework for testing.

7. The method for covid 19 testing in Nigeria is called Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) which is the only approved means of testing in Nigeria.

8. The purpose of the RT-PCR covid test is to determine if a person has the covid 19 virus or not.

9. Once tested, You should always sanitize and isolate while waiting for your covid 19 test result.

10. If you are sure you have the covid 19 symptoms, or you have a travel history, please call your state NCDC approved hotlines to be tested.

11. Nigeria is not using rapid test kits because these can produce false positive or false negative results. The only approved test method is the RT-PCR testing method which accurately detects the presence of Covid 19.

12. The RT-PCR testing method so far is the only reliable method for determining the covid virus

maybe maybe, you just need to be seized and injected with the virus, so that you will be sure 100percent if covid 19 is a scam or not

I learnt that the tests carried out on people is one that detects 'any' viral infection in d body. Thus, there'll be need to to further detect which virus exactly and dt this is why there're many so-called COVID19 asymptomatic ppl being admitted/isolated.

No one would wake up one day and voluntarily wants to get tested for Corona virus.

One of the things they are doing wrong is making people self isolate for days while awaiting their test result. The most important measure to curbing a pandemic is immediate quarantine of people suspected of having the virus.

Then again Covid19 is not as serious in Nigeria as the media made it out to be. So acts like letting people suspected of having the virus roam free as they await their result can fly.

First of, the only way to identify 2019-nCoV properly is by studying its viral genome sequence.

To verify that an illness is the new coronavirus, scientists must first gather viral samples from a person by taking swabs of saliva or mucus from their nose and mouth.
The mucus then gets shipped off (typically on ice packs) to a lab for testing.

Tests are being done, with a "reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction" test, or RT-PCR, which can convert RNA into DNA and amplify genetic sequences, making them easier to study and compare.

Now tests can be dispatched to determine whether someone has the new coronavirus, in a kind of genetic-sequence matching game.

Just like any other test, results could still be prone to manipulation.
So, it doesn't debunk the theory that there might be false cases in Nigeria.
