Nope, Igbo slaves were sent to Brazil, Cuba and Latin America in substantial numbers as well, especially during the start and middle of the slave trade. Yoruba slaves arrived en masse towards the end of the slave trade, which coincided with the Oyo-Dahomey wars where Yoruba slaves were mostly spoils of war. This is hard to believe but in terms of overall number of exports, more Igbo slaves (1.4m) were exported vs Yoruba slaves (about 500,000). Igboland was heavily populated and had the population to sustain the ongoing slave trade demand for centuries vs Yorubaland. Look at the pictures of slave numbers attached below. From the start to the middle of the slave trade, Yorubas were mostly sold in a few thousands until the early to mid 1800s where they dominated the slave trade scene as late entrants and, thus, one of the few tribes to leave the most recent and obvious african culture behind in the new world.

I'm sure your next question would be, why then did Yoruba culture survive more than the Igbo? Ask me that and I would respond to you.

Okay, understood, explain the bolded.

Finally I get a worthy oponenet to discuss this, since you claim to be educated...

All these knowledge and skills, since they exist now, what's stopping these people from utilizing it to develop the east?

Economic and social demands that will need satisfaction, like food, shelter, and clothes, amongst all these things I dont think the east is a producer of any... We are a marginal producer of food, therefore we would be heavily reliant on import diminishing our foreign reserve, shelter we only have one limestone deposit at ithink Enugu, what's stopping our leaders from utilizing it? Most of the textiles used to produce the clothes are sourced from North.

We are at a disadvantage here, this disadvantage will become very visible after the break up.

That apart the east is not known to really produce we are more of an entrepot for the rest of Nigeria

I've added you to one of the reasonable Igbo guys on Nairaland.

Unlike tbag hammerp.

Well, I think all governors are exploring their mineral resources In their respective states.

A quick check on Nigeria Stock Exchange, you'll see the minerals.

Then I've been to Sokoto b4, there land is not that fertile but the way, mineral resources is been extracted there is massive, apart from their Hot Sun.

Same to Jos.
Yeah, you guys import alot which you'll need large market to trade.
Well, majority of my Igbo friends don't subscribe to biafra, cos of what they stand to lose (Their business)

The business is not the issue, Biafra is not viable.

Its going to end up like another poor African country.

Imagine leaving the giant of Africa, that single handedly ended the sierra Leone wars, and Liberian civil war, when the western countries looked away, so u can become another poor African country. Just because u want to carry a different international passport.

And the passport will be worst than the Nigerian passport I bet u, except my people over night change their ways

Alvan Ikoku is an Igbo man from Arochukwu now, why are you not crying about Aro marginalization too?
Are sure you are okay?

Not every division within a province got ministerial posts. There were not enough to go round.
But each province got their quota.

Stop being nice to these afonja people, insult them. We caught them in Akwa Ibom Political Forum claiming to be Ibibio, lying how Igbo killed them during the war. Ibibio people there were shocked because they know Yoruba Adekunle was the one that murdered over 100k Ibibio young men, when asked why? He said " they are no different from their Igbo brothers." They traced this afonja imposter post history and found out he is a yoruba. Evil things!

So many people dont realize how powerful Nigeria is, thanks to our population and the system of government we practice, ensures everybody is carried along.

Can u imagine that the moment Nigerian sponsors pulled out of Big brother Africa, that was the end of it.

Nigeria has single handedly held its own Big brother over and over again and we are about to do another when alot of African countries can't even hold one, even the Ghana and Rwanda a lot of u always talk about havent held one before, even south Africa discontinued theirs. This alone tells u that Nigeria is a very viable country.

The amount of money Mtn and Dstv makes in Nigeria alone, is like 5african countries combined.

Anybody who says its our population should know that Democratic Republic of Congo is one of Africa's most populous countries with over 120million people yet they don't come close.

Me personall I know that if not for the wasteful Years of the military regimes, if our democracy had not been truncated, by now I am not sure even Egypt would come close.

And some people want to leave this Gods gift to us to go and suffer... Una never know wasup

Theres no difference between Biafra and lesotho.

If I start listing out the disadvantage of Biafra it might exhaust me.

But just observe that Biafra and Lesotho are small countries similar in size trapped inside a bigger and richer country.

Do u know that Lesotho is so poor that its armed personnel as a whole is not up to 4000.

The country is so fvcked to the extent that they have been pushing for south Africa to annex them as one of its states or regions. Because to them they see no reason being a country

Must we wait till we fall victim to the same mistake that's irreversible before we get wise?

But the truth is, If biafra exit.

The the whole country will dissolve.
Everyone will go to his or her way.

But, if biafra prefer to be like Lesotho, then I can say it's not advisable cos the disadvantages are more than the advantages.

The grass is not greener at the other side.

Paxienza as at then igbos may have been more populated than yorubas. The difference is about 400,000.but you will agree with me that yorubas have surely outgrown igbos in population due to several reasons.one, you lost over a million people during the war sadly.two which is very important, the birth rate of yorubas is superior to that of the igbos.you can't deny this.up to 40% of yorubas are Muslims and at least half if this are polygamous.almost all igbos arw monogamous even in the rural areas.polygamy is going out of fashion.infact nowadays, most igbos marry late.few years ago,a house of reps member from ebonyi complained bitterly about the low birth rate among the igbos.an average Yoruba family has more numbers than an average Igbo family.you are an intelligent fellow.don't try to dispute this.it is clear as daylight.
As an Igbo man, I'm surprised how you succinctly explained your hypothesis clearly and without insults

Dont use almajiri as a yardstick to know if the north is doing well. For your own good o.

U can't compare people in the north called almajiri who are poor by choice, to our people who are not poor by choice but due to circumstances.

The moment the almajiri system gets reformed u might get surprised that northern leaders didnt fail them its actually ours who did.
poor by choice that's a good one.

Igbo government will always be better than government I've seen in Nigeria at the federal level. The educational achievement in the east of recent is a testament to it. When we control our resources and land, we would judiciously use it to transform our land far better than we've done. The present underperformance has majorly the FG to blame. See the daylight robbery the 'supplant' court did in Imo state. What's the aim? The same thing OBJ did in Anambra until APGA fought back to put a real Igbo choice and Anambra has never remained the same. Anyone who has transferred our land will see why we're very confident in our capabilities.
