Nigerian Air Force A-29 Super Tucano

Why does the nigeria air force camo paint their planes? That seems so amateur and clownish of a thing to do. They need to just leave them as a standard neutral gray or light blue. It doesn't even make common sense to camo a plane with vegetation colors. I bet getting the planes painted those colors added thousands to their cost.

Nigerian Navy recently delivered AW-139 Helicopter.

This Helicopter cost the MOD 22 million dollars.

Egypt is getting 32 units of the AW-139 for 27.2 million dollars a unit.

Military equipments are not cheap.

The Nigerian Navy would soon take delivery of 3 units of AW-109. Pilots have since been training in Italy to fly them.

These 3 units are purchased by the Ministry of Transport for the Nigerian Navy.

Nigerian Navy getting new aircrafts.

Israel’s BIRD Aerosystems has been contracted to supply Cessna Citations configured for the maritime surveillance role to a new, undisclosed African customer.

The company on 19 December said the aircraft would be fitted with its Airborne Surveillance, Intelligence and Observation (ASIO) maritime solution as well as its Mission Management system (MSIS).

“The aircraft will share the operational picture with ASIO mission management stations installed on the customer’s Naval Ships and HQ command, ensuring that all operating teams share a unified, real-time situational awareness picture,” BIRD Aerosystems said.

It added that the maritime surveillance aircraft will be used to defence the customer nation’s maritime border against threats such as piracy, smuggling, illegal fishing, oil theft and terror operations.

The ASIO aircraft will be delivered to the customer as a turnkey system, which includes the aircraft overhaul and upgrade effort to be conducted at BIRD Aviation Cyprus, a fully owned Maintenance and Repair Organization (MRO) subsidiary launched in 2017 in Cyprus.

Ronen Factor, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Founder of BIRD Aerosystems said, “We are thrilled to win another important customer in Africa and see this contract as a vote of confidence by our customers that trust us to continue delivering advanced and cost-effective maritime patrol programmes around the world. Our ASIO solution is specifically tailored to meet our customer’s operational requirements and will allow them to protect their maritime borders against the diverse threats which they are facing.

BIRD Aerosystems has already supplied maritime surveillance aircraft to Africa. In late 2017 it emerged that the Angolan Air Force is operating a Cessna Citation jet configured by BIRD for the maritime surveillance role. The Citation was fitted with Leonardo’s SeaSpray active electronically scanned array (AESA) multimode surveillance radar and a Controp electro-optical (EO) sensor in a belly fairing. The aircraft also has an automatic identification system (AIS) receiver and satellite communications systems.

BIRD Aerosystems told IHS Jane’s that the $20 million Airborne Surveillance, Information, and Observation (ASIO) contract includes the maritime surveillance aircraft, ground-based command and control centre and ASIO workstations on naval vessels. More aircraft were to be delivered at a later date.

BIRD Aerosystems in February 2015 announced a contract from an undisclosed customer for maritime surveillance aircraft “installed with multiple sensors and multiple sub-systems”.

Bird Aerosystems was established in 2001 in Israel. It specialises in airborne missile protection systems and airborne surveillance, information and observation solutions for maritime and ground surveillance.

yea I think our painting pattern is bad, they should just paint it with only one colour, when I was growing up all the military vehicles I saw had a single colour and,and there was no Hilux among the vehicles

They are not painting. You are looking at titanium, carbon fiber and maybe some aluminum made by different subsystem suppliers.
Why are Nigerians so stubborn in their ignorance. You don't know something or have all the facts, you shut up.

According to this Italian source, Nigeria is due to receive helicopters from Airbus. Not the A109.

Although they did not quote any sources themselves.

The Nigerian Navy would also be in talks with Airbus Helicopter for the supply of up to three AS565MBe to be used probably on the two Hamilton-class cutters sold by the United States in 2013.

The AW109 is under the deep blue project not the initial helicopters the Navy budgeted

...

I took a closer look at the clip from DeepBlue and came to the realization that that the aircraft shown in this video has a T-Tail and is certainly not a Cessna Citation. It could be a Bombardier Lear Jet. Furthermore I would like to note the Nigerian Navy is not inducting any of the aircraft and vessels featured by Deep Blue. Deep Blue is a service provider that is contacted to provide surveillance Data to Nigerian government agencies.
