bennyefosa19:Yeah, many people don't. MediaTek has already gain it's bad name in the process of producing affordable chipsets so they'll have to prove themselves worthy of comparison to other notable companies. But if not mediaTek, there wouldn't be too many budget or entry phones today and they have won accolades for that. Recently, MediaTek is stepping up their game. I'm currently using the Helio p60 and its breezing fast. 1 Like |

So op what do u advice someone who doesn't know all this things (to avoid scammers) to go for. I mean between snapdragon(and the series), mediatek and the kirik. Which one is the best. I hope u get my message. 1 Like |
Re: Mediatek: A Not So Brief Summary. by atheistandproud(m): 7:42pm On May 23, 2020 |
Abdulquadrimuha: This question doesn't have a straight forward answer because there are a lot of things to consider. The Processor doesn't work alone. It has to run software and OS, power a display, run apps etc. and different companies approach these tasks differently. If I had the choice between Realme C3 and Infinix Note 7, even tho they both use the same CPU, you're absolutely certain I won't pick Infinix because XoS (their operating system software) is a disaster. To be on the safe side tho, pick from Helio P60 and above, Helio G70 and above and if you can afford the Dimensity series, those ones are good too. That's for Mediatek. For Snapdragon, go with SD636 and above and for Kirin, start from the 710f and above. All of them are good, Snapdragon only edges them because of the fact that they're easy to build apps and mods for because Qualcomm supports their chips more than everyone else. 2 Likes |

Is the p18 a good processor? Thinking of getting the Nokia 5.1 |
Re: Mediatek: A Not So Brief Summary. by atheistandproud(m): 8:37am On May 24, 2020 |
Senpai01: The Mediatek Helio P18 is a low end processor. It will do the basics for you well but don't expect too much from it. It's actually a budget chipset. It's in the same class as the P22 and P35. It's okay, if you're not a heavy user. |

atheistandproud: F*ck. What about the 6750? |
Re: Mediatek: A Not So Brief Summary. by atheistandproud(m): 8:50am On May 24, 2020 |
Senpai01: Budget class as well sir It was midrange at some point but now, the performance of newer midrangers have forced it down to the budget class. |

Good one. I remember my gone-too-soon redmi note 4 with x20 Deca core. That phone's overheating was out of this world. It's metal rear made it worse but it also meant the device cooled pretty quickly. I will only embrace mediatek the day they release their source codes for custom rom development. That day, snapdragon will become my second wife. 1 Like |

Senpai01: atheistandproud: In addition to atheistandproud's answer, steer well clear of MT675x SoCs (6750, 6752, 6753, 6755) and MT673x SoCs (mediocre quad cores) because they are not worth the bother. They all use outdated fabrication processes (battery killers) and they also have some truly terrible Mali and PowerVR GPUs. You should really only consider stuff from: The Helio P-series, namely Helio P23 (budget SoC but good GPU), Helio P60 or greater (P70, P80, P85, P90, P95). The Helio G-series, Mediatek's answer to Snapdragon's gaming SoCs (G70, G80, G85, G90, G90T). And the Dimensity series (800, 820, 1000). Remember to also avoid the frying pan, battery guzzlers that are the (now suspended) Helio X- series. They heat up like crazy, with truly horrible battery backup. 3 Likes |
