Why is it that for everything Nigeria the presentation of money comes first. Why is the focus always monetary. Why are we so money conscious, poverty minded people in this country. Just let us see what you feed them and let us decide its suitability and what value to place on it. They will hide the product and be showing the invoice.... highly suspicious.

Let do a rough calculation here:

1 person will spend 4,500 in a day
Which means 1person = #4,500 in a day
1 person in 28days
1person: 28days × 4,500= #126,000

For 100 people: 28days × 4,500 = #12,600,000

This amount can feed a whole town not even to talk of local with little of food that will can share.

Eventually, Bauchi state turned Isolation centres into NYSC camps.

In NYSC camps, the stipulated amount spent on each meal a day for a Corps member is #1500, which equates to #4500. although, that was in principle not in practice.

This Bauchi case doesn't look different, at all.

When our government indulges in foul plays, they tend to forget that the people they are ruling over are not dumb. We are indeed not dumb! We are just leaving them to their aboriginal 'political-culture' outfit.

I mean, what would it take them to gather a lump sum, get foodstuffs, employ cooks and other necessary workers? It takes them nothing! And, with that, it would have even saved the state some unnecessary costs. I mean, more costs! But, when matters like this arise, those who are vying for what they are going to eat from the projects will refuse to tell policy makers what is right to do, in the right sense.

It is obvious that a policy maker cannot do everything by him/herself; they give out projects - be it with general or personal intent. So, what's wrong with those who these projects are being given to? Greed! Greed in the highest order.

The same greed is ridding the person in charge of this Bauchi Isolation centres feeding. A heavy viral greed.

It may interest you to know that the same issue of greed was obtainable in Oyo state.

The Oyo Tailoring Association executives were awarded a contract of about #60m to sew 1million nose masks by the Oyo state govt. They are to make a nose mask for #60. The project is to be distributed to members of the association. At least, to help the situations during this harsh and hard times.

Consumed by greed, in giving out the contract, the executives gave out the project to members at #20 per nose mask amounting to #20m. You might be wondering about the remains of the money - that is, the #40m.

Lo and behold, the executives greedily amassed to their coffers the remaining #40m. And as reports have it, they are having the money to themselves without doing nothing... Yes, nothing!
