Is There Democracy In Lagos? Or Is it A One Party State? by VaselineCrew(op): 6:46pm On May 27, 2020
Just thinking of how ACN/APC has been in charge of Lagos for decades now, with no opposition party getting the chance to scrutinize their affairs, or prosecute corrupt members of the party and government.

Is this how Lagosians really like it to continue?

Is there any point in conducting elections in Lagos state?

APC seems to have convinced lagosians that it is a Yoruba party and an other political party is of another tribe.

We are not even talking about another tribe ruling, which if we were a true democracy, would not even be a problem. On this subject though, isn’t it funny how Nigerians hail themselves, when other countries give them a chance to govern at any level? But here in Nigeria, it must be the local tribe that governs, talk about hypocrisy.

Back on to the topic, things like the Lagos light rail (supposed to be ready in 2013), lekki toll scam and many other questionable projects just go on unchallenged in Lagos.

I was seriously supporting that gbadamosi Babatunde guy, but even yorubas rejected him cause he is not APC.

Anywho, just my thoughts.

FYI, this also should apply to other states in Nigeria that are becoming one party states. Not good for our democracy at all.

As for Delta state, all past governors should be arrested. They have milked my second state dry.

Is this how Enugu and Ebonyin people want things to continue?

Then same for Enugu then. I’m not here to play any sort of tribal games, just looking for how we can strengthen our democracy and in turn our development as a people.

As I said, Nigerians will hail when they hear some igbo or Yoruba guy has been appointed mayor in some city in America, but same people won’t even let another party win elections in their state, talk less of another tribe or race.

I just think we are all very hypocritical sha.

You practically can't use question to answer another question.
The question remains, why are you asking silly question regards Lagos?

Well maybe because I was born in Lagos, or maybe it’s because I live in Lagos.

I really don’t understand where you’re coming from with your questions.

Please if you have nothing constructive to say, then don’t say anything.

Must you contaminate or be unnecessarily envious of Lagos because of their unmatchable democracy successes and achievements. Which PDP state past or present has ever outdone Lagos APC in terms of physical developments, taking care of their staff and their citizens?
Even this corona pandemic, it is Lagos model FG and all other states are using.

Honestly, this your post does not make sense at at all (apology if this hit a nerve).
1. If election truly count, will a losing party be declared winner
2. will you force voters to change their choice of candidate all in the name of voting another party in.
3. Democracy is not allowing another party to win or declaring losing candidate as the winner of an election but democracy is people making their choice and the choice is respected whether it favours others or not provided that the choice does contradict the constitution.
4. I don't like treading the path that says change your wife (if you're married) or your parents to show democracy is at work

Oloriburuku Igbo your father is worried to death over Lagos that as a light rail even if it is 6% completed. Your father isn't worried about Abia that as been plundered beyond salvation, Abia that is 300% a shithole not fit for living things talk less of humans. Abia that is ruined beyond salvation or redemption by the devilish PDP.

You are worried about a Lagos that no state in Nigeria will catch up to should it stop developing 400, 000 years to come

stupid questions .why not mentioning Rivers and other states in your region that been under PDP since 1999? Instead of you to concentrate on your state for development you decided to pocknose and wasting you energy on succeeded Lagos state.that is why your states and region always be the father and mother of poverty states in Nigeria.
