I recall when some people in Kwara State urged immediate past Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to betray Bukola Saraki just under one year after he was elected Governor in 2011, Abdulfatah said, I can't forget: "I was a Senior Manager at Guaranty Trust Bank Kano when this man called me and appointed me as Commissioner for Finance and after eight years in his cabinet, he did EVERYTHING to make me Governor, even against his longtime friends. Should I betray such a benefactor? No, I'm not an ingrate, I would not!"

It was the same thing when people told current Governor (Professor) Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State to betray immediate past Governor and current Senator, Kashim Shettima. Zulum said: "This man brought me from the University of Maiduguri as a lecturer and made me Commissioner, he entrusted me with huge resources for the resettlement of IDPs. He also went out of his way, and practically abandoned all those who have been politicians for several decades and picked me, a 'baby politician'. Should I now start insulting the same man? I do not have any strand of ingratitude in my DNA."

Ask Fashola. He used tact and wisdom to manage Tinubu, and he eventually had a smooth 2nd term as Governor and he's a 2-term Minister of the Federal Republic today!

Oshiomole fought Anenih to a standstill. The reason was control. At his death Oshiomole was there crying, crocodilically though" how Anenih was his father and how all their battles were politically motivated. He too has stepped on toes.

A godson is expected to be a carbon copy of his godfather. If the godfather has all the qualities above, then it is expected that his godson must have them. His relationship with Okorocha did not stop him from abandoning Okorocha and Okorocha's stooge at that point. The present governor was not even in the permutation but see how it turned out.

Oshiomole's greatest problem is his high handedness which he admitted earlier this year when there was an attempt to remove him by governors and other powerful elements within the APC. The struggle between him and Obaseki must be resource control and party control.

It will be a very big shame on Oshiomole if the Rivers and Zamfara events repeat themselves in Edo. Yet if he does not make a move against Obaseki his political future in Edo and national APC will be jeopardized.

Oshiomole called Ize Iyamu a criminal and that he should not be trusted with a position, yet he wants to put him on that seat. What changed his opinion so suddenly? Does that not show you that politics is about interests?

PDP is right at the corner waiting to Supreme courtically reclaim their state. Oshiomole is already leading APC in that direction.

No 5. There is a new sheriff in town (Gambari) so any crisis at this early stage will not be welcomed. The world over, incumbents are given the rights of first refusal except their performance is abysmal. That cannot be said of Obaseki.
Lastly. With PDP having 2 senators. APC has no choice than to put their best foot forward. If this campaign is not run with state resources, APC is a goner.

The whole fight was caused by Godwin Obaseki. He refused different moves from different people to settle the issue between him and his Godfather. As you know, politics is a thing of interest. Let me take u back to memory lane, in 2012, when it was crystal clear that oshiomhole will likely lose d election because pdp presented a bini man (Gen. Charles Airhiavbere) it was desame bini that stood by him and rejected their son. Don't 4get what d late Oba of Benin, Erediawa did when rejected d entouraged of president Jonathan when they came to campaign 4 Gen. Airhiavbere in 2012. So oshiomhole shouldn't used his reggae to spoil another man blues.

My brother, it seems u are not too conversant with political matters in Edo.
Firstly, Obaseki being the sitting/incumbent Governor, lost his political base i.e Edo South to PDP during the last general election. Meaning he is being represented by opposition at all federal levels in his constituency.
Secondly, he isn't in control of the entire party structures, his strong base is only Edo South where he has been reduced to nothing by the likes of "Esama" the igbinedions
Thirdly, his popularity has waned among party faithfuls in the grassroots. Of which The party chairman controls the entire Edo North and has Some influence still in the Central, where the likes of the current Health Minister hails from
Fourthly, the NWC of the party is saddled with responsibility of choice of party primaries nd supervision.
Worst case scenario Obaseki may organize his parallel primary and that will be his undoing by shotin himself in the foot.
With the position of the party chairman, and that of other Second term governors, Inclusive of the NWC direct primary has come to stay. And with such, Obaseki has got no chance because, he wil be ruthlessly dealt with in both Edo North and Central while, Edo South which is his base and that of the party chairman's preferred candidate, votes wil be split amongst the two.....So in a nutshell he is already a gonner, he should ask Rocha's, Amosun and Even Ambode who are more politically correct and savvy than him.
