Goodevening, I want to come to Lagos on the 20th to make payment for a car and would love to also register it before leaving to avoid too many talks with our Nigerian Police. Please how long would I have to wait for the registration to be done before leaving? Thanks for the response guys

you can drive your car down to your base so far you have your plate no road worthiness, proof of ownership, vehicle license and insurance.
All this will be ready in 24hrs only the police report might take a week + to be available.

Remember He will be travelling inter state and the police on the highway will surely extort him if He can't provide Allocation of number plate.

Nobody was of help to you on this thread maybe they dont know about it but felt they should still speak on it. I bought a Car from the USA in January and i registered my Car in Mushin Local govt, Lagos and it took just two days which is the standard proceedure for just 45k for the number plate, Third party insurance, Vehicle license registration and your Road worthiness.

Just 2 days, walk into a local govt and ask for their Lagos state Licensing office. Most Local Govt in Lagos have them with FIRS and VIO offices .

It's in hours, I came to lagos to get a car this January, at berger, it took them like 4 to 5 hours to register it and brought the new number plate, I left lagos the following morning to Bayelsa, also registered another, same day, just before the lock down... But just have it in mind a full day will do... U get it same day

Wow am just surprised people are saying 2 days, 2 weeks, it's getting me confused, no be the same car I don register twice for lagos that took me hours of waiting and was picked, got those cars direct toks and wouldn't want the Cops to use us catch trips on the way to the south... Na presidential number plate Una want do wai go take 48hours plus?
