Good morning house,

i have the following codes p0010, p0369, p0344 on my honda accord 2004 lx. CMP sensor A and B circuit intermittent

i attached some pics from the scanner.

i need help with the location of the sensors if u have a good image i will appreciate. the car shudders intermittently and when it happens say when i am slowing down the engine stalls. my mechanic stopped the stall by increasing the revs to 1 at rest

also thinking of changing my timing chain any thoughts?

You spelt my name wrong angry

The codes can be triggered if you have a faulty timing chain tensioner, also if you recently worked on the timing chain area and it was not set properly

I'll send pics of the location of the sensors when I get to the office. It seems you sent me an sms on this matter..

Thanks a lot. Yes i sent u an sms.

i didnt work on the timing area. the only issue i have had is there is this nasty squeal around the belt area(remember the night u fixed the AC). i have changed the tensioner but no joy. recently noticed the belt is fraying on the edge close to the engine. mechanic says there is a wobble on the water pump pulley. could the wobble be throwing the timing off?

also i noticed the check engine light went off while driving home on Saturday but the shudder is still there.

lets chalk the spelling error to too much cold.

From the codes indicated ,your car actually have two issue ,inability to achieve high rev due to VTC solenoid issue (P0010) and timing not synchronized(P0369 and p0344) and this one will lead to poor engine performance.
For the timing issue ,check your timing assemble before checking on the cam sensor cos it is not logical for the two can sensors to go bad at once .
You don't need to open the engine to check if your timing is set ,use a timing light to confirm all this .
If you need a professional to successfully resolve all this issue for you ,contact autologic @08061166316

honmusa has given you the lead as in the position of the two sensors. If you search auto codes website, you will see that the usual experience with them is engine stalling and loss of power.

The other code P0010 maybe as a result of the other two. I suggest you start with checking if they are properly connected. Depending on whether work has been done on the timing recently, I would not suggest opening the top cover yet until you are sure.

The B is a circuit problem while A is intermittent failure. So A can be as a result of B.

Idle speed is supposed to be maintained by ECU, so essentially, you cannot increase it. Your mechanic only did it by adjusting your throttle cable to keep the butterfly valve open. That will create other problems relating to TPS (throttle position sensor) and the ECU will definitely notice.

You know we're the problem is, it's better to solve it than create more.

Adjusting idle to about 1500. For this buhari season. Have you checked the news lately. Fuel would be selling for 200# per litre soon. By the time that car drinks 5 litres in 2mins. You would know that this change is real

And don't forget to adjusting the rev to normal idle position after the issue has been resolved .
