University of Mpumalanga is based in the serene city of Mbombela (Mpumalanga Province). The name of the province translates to "Place of the Rising Sun" and has a population of about 4.5 million. The University is in close proximity to the world-famous Kruger National Park. It currently caters for less than 500 students with plans for expansion.

Sol Plaatjie University has been developed as a city university in Kimberley. The architecture of the new buildings has a unique personality and embraces a modern approach to light and space and is inclusive of artwork and design reflecting the heritage of the area.

Kimberley is located in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. It is the least populated province with just 1.3 million people and the terrain is semi-desert.

No mind them, if they show us the interior of these two new state universities in SA now plus their facilities and learning resources na shame go catch us. We celebrate mediocrity too much in naija. Schools without research facilities and fund making noise since cos of dilapidated buildings scattered everywhere on large mass of land. No doubt we Nigerians are hard working in academics and otherwise, but we don't have the facilities to aid quality research and development.

...,. and not those BOYS QUARTERS Giant of Africa parade as UNIVERSITIES.
UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN lost its Glory long ago.
UI happens to be a University that entertained a lot of Africans and Europeans, including the Saudis.
But see where it is today....

Imagine what would have become of NIGERIA if the WHITES had stayed back and run this country till 1995...
Imagine the Edifice we would have been proud of.
As usual our IMPATIENCE subdued us and we sought for INDEPENDENCE to early thinking say we don get sense, now see where we are today.
ORDINARY UNITY we can't achieve.
To Govern ourselves has become a Herculean Task.

Nothing to show since 1960 except DECADENCE.
We think it's about having CRUDE OIL...
What's the use of Crude Oil without Common Sense

NONSENSE...

We Nigerians were busy posting and celebrating mediocrity. Don't be surprised money's spent on these Nigerian Uni's can build double of this South African Uni. When will Nigerians begin to demand the best from their government?

When can we learn to start projecting in to the future constructively?
In the case of these buildings there would be no need for expansion in the next 100 years. Meanwhile the interior can always wear a look to reflect the time.
