Akeredolu Breaks Silence on Direct primary.

Ahead of the October 10, 2020 governorship election in Ondo state, the incumbent Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu at the weekend declared that he will be ready for any mode of primary election that will use to pick the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the primaries slated for July 20.

The governor also dismissed insinuation that he is afraid of direct primary system, noting that most of those advocating or clamouring for the direct primary election do not even have structures to win any contest in the party.

Akeredolu who spoke in Akure, the state capital through the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, said he is popular and had performed well to win any mode of primary election conducted by the APC.

Some of the Governorship Aspirants in the state including Hon Isaacs Kekemeke and the Unity Forum leadership chaired by former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Alli Olanusi had advocated the adoption direct primary system, claiming that it was a mode that will enable all APC members to choice the party’s candidate for the October 10 polls.

Addressing newsmen on behalf of the governor, Ojogo flanked by other members of the governor’s media team, pointed out that it was strange that some of the party’s chieftains who are parading themselves as governorship aspirants would not obtain nomination form while others were only known on social media.

The National Secretariat of the APC said it was yet to take a final decision on the mode of primaries to adopt in picking its Ondo State governorship candidate while Direct primary had been approved for Edo governorship primary slated for June, 2020.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission had fixed the governorship elections in both Edo and Ondo states for September 19 and October 10, respectively.-primary-or-any-other-system-akeredolu-2/

No he does not listen to IPobs praise singers. The Igbo beautiful Gov wife's, her Excellency, Mrs Betty Akeredolu, has told the Gov , never to listen to praise singers, especially the IPobs.
It's on record, no political office holders survive, the moment they begin to receive praises from IPOB.

this confidence can come from three ways, first is his performance, second his hold on party structure in the state, third is high connection to the kingmakers in ondo state.. But whatever is the case I love his confidence... Please don't blame Edo governor, he knew he was forced on the people by osho baba, so he knew that so many people are not happy about it and now that he is not in good terms with his benefactor, he might lose direct primary... If only he performed at least very well and is loved by his people, he could have defeated his opponents directly or indirectly... Four years is too small to fight political battles...

This is a Gov, that's ready to test his popularity. Not like the Edo is not Lagos crew.
You can't go to AIT, Channels TV in the morning shouting you don't want godfatherism in Edo, later in the night ,you go to Abj and Lagos begging people not to allow other candidates to participate in a primary election

Even though I feel Tinubu might still have an ace in his sleeve, that ugly guy is too cunning. He might bring in Segun Abraham/Olusola Oke in the dying minute, then ask for a direct primary, also further collect the register of Ondo state members and tweak it to his taste..
