How do movie producers make money in Nigeria?
Is there really profit in film production in Nigeria, Considering the high rate of piracy?
Are soap operas better than a full movie in terms of production and income generation?
How do they market their movies and make money?
Is it really profitable? And what nitch really sell?

Cinemas do pay to play their movies , and I heard up coming actresses do pay for roles , to ginger their runs

after production, the producer take it there? Is there no possibility of playing it in the cinema without the producers permission? How does it really work?

If the video is of cinema standard , both of them can negotiate. U can't play any video in cinemas without permission

They are called exploitation windows
1. Cinemas. Runs for between 3-6 months. Producer gets roughly 37% of gross.
2. VOD or video on demand. Netflix, Amazon Prime, iTunes, Iroko, Showmax, DSTV box-office, etc. Platforms pay a licensing fee for showing film for a period. Usually 1-2 years.
3. Cable like DSTV, Kwese, cable channels pay licensing fees for a period, 1-2 years
3. Broadcast TV like Galaxy TV, pay something small. Usually by this time the film is 2-3 years old or older
4. Ancillary fees from in flight entertainment, hospitals, prison, etc. These deals don't come always and usually small
5. Mobile. Not really taken off for feature films, more likely for skits and shorts. Revenue shared with Telco

Lloydmedia, please are these nollywood,movies found on youtube illegal? I intend creating a channel for nollywood movies. I need your opinion on this.
