Exactly what we are saying. Everything is politicised including the so called number of poor released by NBS. If you believe that the list of registered poor for cash transfer as released by the FG was politicised, then it is correct for you to believe that the number of the poor as produced by NBS, an agency of the FG, is politicised too.
NBS is a body on it own though under the gov but not directly run by the gov.

This...below is an international stats focus on Nigeria poverty index. Truth is, SW has always been ahead on that table right from day one.

Ogbeni just shut your akpu mouth already.

If the Nigerian gov lied do UN, WHO lied too?
Or you want to tell us the NBS is run by an individual or that one single man collocated the numbers and paste it?

NBS is run and owned by the same gov you claimed said the truth about the number of homes that got the so-called ' cash '. grin
Idiot Ewedu-eating, agbo-guzzling, skull-mining and brown-roof-habitting scalliwag, nobody has said that the data of the so-called homes that got the cash transfer was correct. If you knew how to read in the first place, you should have understood that my post questioned both data. But of course, the sniper-taking Awolowo scam free education didn't teach you how to read. Idiot!

According to National Bureau of Statistics, the states with the poorest people are:

- Ebonyi = 79% poverty status

- Enugu = 57% poverty status

- Abia = 30% poverty status

- Imo = 28% poverty status

Ideally, this data should reflect on the list of the poor and vulnerable registered by the FG to receive cash transfers periodically. Logic would have had it that the south east should have the highest number of registered poor eligible for cash transfer but the reverse is the case. In fact,
Zamfara state alone has over 1.3 million, Katsina has over 800,000 while the whole of southeast comprising of the 5 ' states with the poorest people' has 383,316.

Is this an irony or a willful contradiction? Are the FG and NBS lying? Who is lying; the NBS or the FG?

Please, statisticians and policy makers on nairaland should weigh in on this analysis.

When it comes to giving palliative due to poverty, of course you know they will skip the Southeasterners.
But if they had to tax or get some benefits from the poverty story, you know they will put the southeasterners first.
That is Nigeria for you.

This isn't rocket science angry
so in the older data the SE was better and in the latest they are poor. but do you have this old data you speak of?

If the statistics on poverty are true, then that would make Nigeria the only country on planet earth were the most educated people are amongst the poorest. Defying everything we know about poverty and how to alleviate it.

So no, Igboland is not poor nor amongst the poorest. Everyone knows that. Poor people don't manufacture cars. Most of Nigeria's indigneous industrial capacity is in Igboland. Again, poor people don't run industries.

Nigeria is just an immensely corrupt country and the NBS statistics are simply a deterrant or ploy, againgst the ever growing Biafra movement. Just like the landlocked argument.

These attempts at deterring Igbo people from forming their own country will get more and more desperate as Biafra edges towards realisation. So if your Igbo expect more ridiculous things to come.

IGR is not a contribution, it's internally generrated, hence the acrynum.

South-East governors have a vested interest in keeping tax low, because unlike in other parts of Nigeria. Igboland actually has a private sector.

The IDP camps are due to flooding, during the rainy season. Not because of terrorism or extreme poverty. I'd imagine, it'd explain that in the article.

Oga, stop spamming valuable space. And what do you mean by Ekiti state better than anambra, do you think stats are orally configured or base on hearsays like you are doing now? Ekiti people see mostly into farming business.
