If South East Is Poorest, They Should Be Biggest Receipient Of FG Cash Transfer by Easternsun2020: 12:51pm On Jun 01, 2020 |
According to National Bureau of Statistics, the states with the poorest people are: - Ebonyi = 79% poverty status - Enugu = 57% poverty status - Abia = 30% poverty status - Imo = 28% poverty status Ideally, this data should reflect on the list of the poor and vulnerable registered by the FG to receive cash transfers periodically. Logic would have had it that the south east should have the highest number of registered poor eligible for cash transfer but the reverse is the case. In fact, Zamfara state alone has over 1.3 million, Katsina has over 800,000 while the whole of southeast comprising of the 5 ' states with the poorest people' has 383,316. Is this an irony or a willful contradiction? Are the FG and NBS lying? Who is lying; the NBS or the FG? Please, statisticians and policy makers on nairaland should weigh in on this analysis. https://www.nairaland.com/5839669/see-5-states-poorest-people https://dailypost.ng/2020/04/10/covid-19-zamfara-leads-as-fg-publishes-full-list-of-11-million-poor-and-vulnerable-nigerians/ 5 Likes 2 Shares

South East is poor, no doubt but the problem is misrepresentation of data, south east does not have adequate data record, the one they have have also been inflated to make it seems like they are doing fine, maybe this is due to ego. Its the latest ranking that exposed them, when you give false data that you're doing fine, and you have less poor people, FG will turn to people that need their help instead. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

SultanM: It's the highest level of insincerity and deceit on your part. The joke is on you, the fraudulent NBS and FG. You say that Igbos are poor but chose to give money meant for the poor to the 'rich in the north.' The evil contradiction is clear. That fewest Igbos are registered to receive the cash transfers mean that Igbo have the least number of the poor hence the richest. 16 Likes |

MinorityOpinion: This is very true. Sadly they think there is gains in bragging. A "patriotic" political leader in SE would even see need to heighten poverty level in the region and attract several national and international grants and funding. Shake my head for the level of their political shrewdness. 6 Likes |

MinorityOpinion: Did south east compile any of the data above? Fraudulent NBS and FG did. The same NBS that has refused to publish the unemployment figures due to lack of money as they said had the finance to publish the list of the poor. 4 Likes |

TripleOh7: You've not answered the question or did you choose to read the part that makes you happy? NBS says, 'People in South East are poor' but FG say, 'South East people do not deserve the cash transfer because they are not poor.' And here you are joining those two in their foolery. 2 Likes |

Easternsun2020: And the question is, are you poor or not? Your answer will determine whether you are ripe for palliative or not. After all, who knows you better than yourselves. I understand your dilemma. If you say you're rich, you won't be entitled to the palliative your people desperately need. Yet, pride and ego won't let you admit that you are actually poor. Real Hobson's choice here. |

Easternsun2020: So if you are rich, why are you whining about some paupers' compensation that is meant for poor states? LOL. You proved me right after all. Shows we know you lots more than you know yourselves. "Buying up your lands in the Southwest..." Very typical! |

Lool So the OP believed the figures of Nigeria gov where everything politicizes and manipulated? How many people received the so-called ' money ' tonl start with? Only a fool believed that figured and imaginary numbers of people. |
Re: If South East Is Poorest, They Should Be Biggest Receipient Of FG Cash Transfer by Twistaray(m): 3:44pm On Jun 01, 2020 |
Easternsun2020: Ogbeni just shut your akpu mouth already. If the Nigerian gov lied do UN, WHO lied too? Or you want to tell us the NBS is run by an individual or that one single man collocated the numbers and paste it? NBS is run and owned by the same gov you claimed said the truth about the number of homes that got the so-called ' cash '. |
Re: If South East Is Poorest, They Should Be Biggest Receipient Of FG Cash Transfer by Easternsun2020: 3:47pm On Jun 01, 2020 |
Twistaray: Exactly what we are saying. Everything is politicised including the so called number of poor released by NBS. If you believe that the list of registered poor for cash transfer as released by the FG was politicised, then it is correct for you to believe that the number of the poor as produced by NBS, an agency of the FG, is politicised too. |
