The Korowai people live in Southeastern Papua in the island of New Guinea, the second largest island in the world.

They were discovered in 1974.

The Korowai were unaware of the existence of any other people on earth other than themselves.

They live high above the ground on trees and practiced cannibalism, some reports state that they still practice ritual cannibalism .

Cannibalism

The Korowai practice cannibalistic rituals when someone is convicted of being a “khakhua”, which is a witch doctor. They believe Khakhua comes always disguised as a “friend or a relative” to the person khakhua wants to kills. These people believe that the khakhua eats the inside of the victim while the victim sleeps. The khakhua replaces the inside of the victim with ash, and then the victim don't have the ability to find out he is being eaten. He then shoots a magical arrow to the victim’s heart and kills him.

They believe that dying relatives always whisper the name of the khakhua before they pass on. The friends, family and members of the clan the dead victim belonged to would seize the person accused to be the khakhua, they would kill him/ her and eat the flesh.

They live in 140-foot high tree houses:


One of the most remarkable engineering feats of the isolated and primitive tribe is their ability to construct great treehouse which sit 140-feet high in the jungles. The treehouse are constructed and placed on stilts, which were designed to protect the members from rival villages. These basic structures are only accessed by wooden ladders, placed up against the stilts to reach the top.

The central pole is made from a Banyan tree, with the bark of sago palm used for the floor and walls. The roof is made from the sago leaves. Fire pits are also created to protect the hut, as the biggest danger would be a fire.

Discovered in 1974. This is 2020, are they civilised now?

To sleep in that tree house is like asking to commit suicide. Woe betide you you're the type of person who likes to roll on the bed when sleeping.

You will just roll into the great beyond.

Civilization is a major difference between man and animals.

Women marry after their first period:


While men tend not to get married until they are in the 20s, most women are married off in their early teenage years, after they begin to menstruate. The treehouse typically hold up to 15 people, which will consist of a man, his wife or wives and any unmarried children. Once a woman is married, she is seen as an adult and must leave the family home to live with her husband.

Without any western technology or infrastructure, hunting is done in a more primitive manner — with a bow and arrow. These tools are not only used for hunting animals, but also to hunt down other people, intruders from rival clans or unwelcome foreigners. The bow has a barb on it and this will be pointed at outsiders until they have established peace.

this is the idea system to curb adultery in the society. Only if this model could be adopted in the current world
