New wwe fan here, what is the difference between the two shows? I've only watched raw so far, is smackdown the same type of thing or different?

Oga it the same thing just that raw is been fought on Monday while SmackDown is on friday

John Cena was the face of smackdown and him and undertaker plus Eddie Guerrero and other superstars made smackdown to rival the dominance of raw as the superior brand.

@op, Raw and SmackDown are two brands of the same WWE company but are different brands and stars. It's just like Coke and fanta produced by same company.

Smackdown is represented by the blue colour while Raw is red colour.

The stars of smackdown can be drafted over to Raw while that of Raw can be drafted to smackdown after the WWE annual event called WrestleMania, that is why you can see a superstar in raw this year and SmackDown next year, though some superstars are left to represent the brand and called the face of that brand for a long time before being drafted again eg John Cena on smackdown.

It is also worthy of note that WWE has other smaller brands like NXT, 205 live and others.

That billion dollar franchise is controlled by a genius called Vince McMahon and his family members.
