The recently erected parliament building is an extraordinary vision. It serves as the council chambers for the City of Johannesburg in South Africa.

It was designed by a local firm and has already won prestigious international Awards including for public services development category for the International Property Awards in London.

It is designed in the form of a transparent African drum. This is to symbolise the City of Joburg’s transformation that is aligned with principles of transparency, accessibility and accountability.

This is the first municipal building in South Africa with the Green Star rating.
