There a lot of great used car deals out there. I've got a 1994 jeep wrangler limited, 2001 for N250k and it ran and drove with great body panels. You just have to know where to look and what to look for. There are brands you shouldn't buy used, for even N10k, though. Don't let longer throat for big car put you in trouble grin

Stop saying what you don't know.

I recently bought a 2008 vehicle manual transmission less than 200k, yes I got there inspect it and told the owner all the wahala the car has and I can't pay upto 200k for it.

It's not a stolen car anyway, I drove it that same day to southwest Nigeria from Abuja a journey of 700km plus and it didn't break down on the road even once.

The idea is to know a little about cars and remove fixing price from asking price stand your ground, if seller no gree move on to the next one.

Note if you are looking for cheap cars please leave Toyota and Honda and afix your mind on manual transmission
I will need your help to get a cheap car. But I want automatic

I met a guy who wanted to buy a VW product, Nigerian used and went to check the car with his Toyota mechanic. After buying the car, the kind hair the car barb the guy no be here.

My take is, always go with the right mechanic, if possible scan the car. Also, don’t fully put ur mind in Auto if u wanna get a good car at this price.
Why? If u see a Honda 1999 for that price , u should rush and check gear box and engine immediately. But on a norm u can get cars of 199-2006 manual for that price and it will serve you well

Can i get a sound Nigerian used 2000 Toyota sienna with chilling Ac with the budget of 600k-650k. I want to put it into transport, therefore it has to be strong and rugged for commercial purposes.

Sir, do you think 2000 sienna is a good catch for Nigerian used or should i settle for Volkswagen sharan (naija used). The aim is for transportation. South west to South east.

They are both good cars

Everything boils down to how the previous owner used the vehicle.
E.g I can buy a 2006 Corolla and still suffer if the previous owner messed up the car.

Last two years, my in-law bought a 1999 sienna, it looks so sweet that if I don’t tell u it’s Nigerian used, u won’t believe. In less than 2 months it started drinking oil and fuel.
That was when we found out that the car rings was changed and the engine came back to life only for a while.
The seller also used nice fragrance and AC to deceive us when we were buying.

If you are going for a sienna, go with a Toyota mechanic who understands OBD scanners and vise versa for the VW sharan. They are both rugged vehicles.

My dad uses the sharan presently , the only electrical issues that is often with it is the battery head needs to be removed once u get to ur destination or the battery will run down(it was not so in the beginning till the car had an accident). We have searched for what’s consuming the battery but didn’t find it. Apart from that, it can never keep u stranded. Same with sienna

You can find cheap cars to buy here on Nairaland and a few other platforms. However, N300,000k appears to be too small for a car in good condition. You would have to ensure you get a car with a good engine, because that would be hard with that amount.

It’s a mission impossible but we have people that actually got good cars for that amount and they are testifying. Most of them are manual gears ⚙️ anyways

Please don't be deceived that you can get a Golf 3 that is good for #300,000. It is not a rule. I went to Kaduna looking for Golf 3 as my first car with 300k but coundn't get a good one. I ended up buying the one of 400k and I spent close to 200K yet the car was still problematic. I ended up selling it at 450k and bought another Golf for 500k and had rest of mind till date. Belgium Golf 3 is up to #1.1m. Cars that are less problematic are no longer cheap. I am also in Abuja.
