ISWAP hardly attacks Maiduguri or even use Suicide bombers. It's Mostly BHT that does that. ISWAP controls an area where they can only come to Maiduguri through Baga Road and Yobe road. If they ever try coming through Baga Road it will likely be a death sentence because of the Biggest barracks in Northeast Maimalari Barracks is right at the entrance of Maiduguri-Monguno-Baga Road. That is why peeps who live at Baga and Damasak Road areas in Maid can snore till day break without any fear grin.

I doubt if anyone has ever confirmed ISWAP using suicide since its existence. If they wanna attack they come fully prepared with Gun trucks. Even BHT do not have as many Guntrucks as ISWAP. Last week they came out with 11 Guntrucks on Monguno to road and abducted some civilians and told others to tell the Military and community that Mamman Nur faction is back. Really saddening that those who they abducted have been slaughtered and their bodies were dropped back on the road side by ISWAP embarassed on Saturday.
ISWAP uses suicide bombers as well, mostly adult males who are given VBIED to drive into a target prior to their attack.

And if they get desperate enough, believe me, they will use women and children for their evil act too. Terrorists have no honor.

Boko Haram Eid El Fitr Celebration Video indicates Jihadists massive decline; All Hands on Deck.

The recent terrorist modus operandi in Northern Nigeria and the Lake Chad Basin indicates that ISIS and Al-Qaeda linked Boko Haram/JAS Abubakar Shekau led faction and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) are in serious battlefield decline.

This is the ideal moment for the local population; local and international Non governmental Organisations (INGOs) and the international community to positively enhance needed assistance to the Lake Chad regional states displaying genuine commitment and efforts towards restoring stability in the region.

Similar to a well resourced Western backed coalition against ISIS self proclaimed Caliphate in Iraq and Syria, Lake Chad basin regional states should be effectively assisted towards the defeat of ISIS Caliphate in West Africa – in line with the global war against terror.

As rightly suspected, a recently released video clip by Abubakar Shekau led Boko Haram/JAS faction on the Site International Group reveals the loose ISIS and AlQaeda linked affiliated and supported Jihadists group is in a downward state of decline for the past two years.

Sources with knowledge of the jihadists activities in the region strongly believe that the propaganda video was compiled in the JAS stronghold of Sambisa Forest along the fortified camps of Farisu and Garin Habu.

The video may have been taken in the early morning hours (8am – 9:30am) of the 23rd or 24th of May during a joint factional Eid-el-Fitr prayers.

In contrast to previous Boko Haram/JAS Eid propaganda videos, the Abubakar Shekau led alliance appears seriously degraded and weakened compared to previous years where an energetic and heavily armed Shekau would be seen surrounded by armoured trucks; thousands of well armed fighters and flanked by top commanders to observe Eid prayers and thereafter slaughter chicken, rams and cattle for a feast.

It was previously reported that Boko Haram/JAS rival factions recently regrouped in a patchy reconciliation brokered by a network affiliated to the Libya terrorist Group –AZWAJ.

They agreed to form an unholy alliance to launch coordinated attacks on military positions in Lake Chad Basin states in the past Holy month of Ramadan.

They even waived fasting for their fighters to achieve such devilish Intents. Not featuring Abubakar Shekau, the rushed-up video features several new and old Boko Haram Amirs. Some covering their faces to mask their identity.

It is also an indication of their role as active and sleeper cells or agents mingling with state agencies and local NGOs. Thus misleading and confusing intelligence agents and informants.

The video also features hundreds of jihadists families — women and young children often selected, trained and deployed by the group as suicide bombers; spies; and infiltrators of Internally Displaced Camps (IDPs) to gather information on logistics and food and non edible supply of humanitarian relief by the NGOs.

This information is used by Boko Haram terrorists to plan and launch attacks on food convoys and IDP camps – stealing food, medicine and other essential items to sustain them.

Why is Boko Haram terrorists group is in Decline The celebration of Eid-el-Fitr Eid Duha are the only yearly opportunities for jihadists around the world to regroup and celebrate the Muslim Holy Month and Ram sacrificing Eid festivals.

These occasions are exploited by jihadists in the region (separated along cells and units) for tactical reasons to demonstrate their combined capacity – weapons – recruits and solidarity/pay allegiance to invincible sponsors, local and international supporters and attempt psychological warfare tactics against the morale and fighting efficacy of regional troops.

This continuous visible decline in Boko Haram could be explained by the recently coordinated and state planned massive aerial and ground offensives on Boko Haram and ISWAP strongest holds by the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LBC) led Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) operation Yancin Tafki; Nigeria operation LAFIYA DOLE and Chad Operation Boma Wrath.

This latest video shows Boko Haram/JAS faction fighters in hundreds not in thousands. A huge reduction in the number of devoted armed fighters; reduction in huge weapons and mounted gun-trucks usually on display.

Several Boko Haram and ISWAP home based and experienced foreign fighters, Amirs and unit commanders, some from the ruins of the collapsed so-called Islamic State (ISIS) in Iraq and Syria have either been decapitated in their thousands or arrested, forcing desperate jihadist factions to resort to a massive ongoing recruitment of child soldiers to make up battlefield numbers.

Tactics of using civilians as shields The known tactical display of Boko Haram fighters mixed with families of very young children, girls and mothers in separate gatherings is further evidence of an asymmetric warfare a kind of defensive ecosystem jihadists deploy in the region.

The vulnerable group is used by Boko Haram as a shield to deter State planned precision aerial and land offensives on their known hideouts in Northern Nigeria the Lake Chad Basin given the Information obtained from such backgrounds.

This rehearsed jihadist tactic is used to manipulate and promote exaggerated reports and condemnation of Gross Violations of Human Rights and war crime from local and international Human Right organisations linked to Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch –when they are hit from multiple angles.

In an era of asymmetric warfare – stakeholders must recognise that terrorists have established a tactic of blending in the midst of the vulnerable and the innocent to create confusion, suspicion and divide between the state security forces and the people they are supposed to protect.

All measures to safeguard the Human Rights of innocent citizens must be taken – limiting collateral damage as much as practically possible. Recommendations As the capacity of ISIS and Al-Qaeda affiliates in Africa crumbles under regional pressure points, a committed, robust and coordinated multi-agency civilian and military regional soft and hard intervention is necessary.

The overall strategy should have the full support and backing of the local population and the international community.

A joint stakeholder endeavour will pave the way for lasting peace and security in the Lake Chad Basin with ripple positive effect on the rising Sahel- Liptako Gourma based jihadist activities.

Governments in the Lake Chad region – Nigeria – Cameroon – Niger and Chad and you some extent, Benin Republic, should improve proactive civil-military interventions towards providing good governance in vast ungoverned spaces – this is a resource intensive long term endeavour.

All efforts employed to instil trust and win hearts and minds of the local population.

These efforts (both short and long term) will enable a smooth process of trust building, attract information/intelligence sharing behaviour and regain control of local communities in preparation for eventual transition towards sustainable law enforcement driven peace and security.

No single Lake Chad state can use the might of its security and armed forces to defeat Jihadist operations in the region without the full support of the most impacted local population, the international community and other key stakeholders.

Their efforts must be genuine and transparent towards one goal

Look up the 'greentree agreement' the erstwhile 'northern camerouns' have never been put into contention as it has been since '60 an integral and irrefutable part of Nigeria, It includes parts of Borno, adarmawa, and yobe state in a 'UNO state' is laughable, I'm not saying I have all the information, but I have a fair knowledge of the bakkasi conflict, the only deal signed between biya and obasanjo was the greentree agreement in '05, before that time?...they got both their legs on their necks

Green tree agreement has nothing to do with 1961 plebiscite, you are mixing up 2 different events.

I read this interview many years ago when coward Ajibola granted it... and I was disgusted.

Obasanjo goofed big time... war or no war, Nigeria should never have handed Bakassi to Cameroun. Despite world judgements, Israel has refused to release occipied territories it captured in wars. No nation would send their troops to fight for Cameroon.

Gens. Abacha or IBB would never have surrendered Bakassi like that. It is shameful when a full grown man touts "surrendering" your land because of fear of war. Very stupid and shameless man called Ajibola. Like Gens. Diya and Adisa.
Shamelessness and cowardise runs deep from that side cheesy

You have spoken like a Child, Nigeria lost Bakassi but retained a deeper continental shelf, & a broader EEZ, there is no proven oil reserve of commercial quantity in the Peninsula so to what end are we fighting over a stretch of land into the ocean?

The greentree agreement requires the people are not evicted, sadly, Cameroon breached that agreement else those guys would've settled peacefully.

Speaking of military occupation by Abacha, that's an irresponsible reference point.
Abacha's strong man posture was no match for France in a proxy war, a nuclear power and a permanent UNSC member means France will win both militarily & diplomatically.
I laughed hard when you claimed nobody will fight for Cameroon, that's a very ignorant statement.

Cameroon in1961 did not sign any declaration of independence but pacté coloniele agreement in it France has offer of first refusal on all Cameroonian EEZ in exchange for security.
The only thing France needed was for Total SA to prove the Peninsula had oil in commercial quantity, in partnership with Porenco in 1993, the Seismic report was not impressive.
Under French advisory, Cameroon took the legal route.

If the Seismic data of that peninsular turned out positive, one French Amphibious operation will re-unite all Abacha soldiers with their creators, according to British intelligence at the time, France had no plans of occupying Bakassi alone but deep into cross river state down to Odukpani in the north, then occupy deep into the Atlantic ocean in the South.

The reason is to make it difficult for Nigeria to launch a reprisal, that will force Nigeria to go the diplomatic route and France with her veto at the UNSC will own cross river state forever.
Such was the tragedy OBJ averted. There was no front of that war Nigeria would've won.
This scenario would've played out again if OBJ didn't hand over, France will act under the pretext of enforcing intl law.

The precarious position Nigeria was at the time can not be compared with Israel from the 6 days war to the Yom-kippor war.
This is largely because Israel at the time won those countries militarily before occupying their lands, diplomatically, Britain & US had Israel's back at the UNSC. Conversely, Abacha was a diplomatic mess, from 1995 was under Commonwealth sanctions, UN was already preparing an embargo before his fortunante demise, consequently, you don't think Abacha will win France militarily in a proxy war.
The situations were different for Israel & Nigeria, nothing to compare.

Speaking of Israel, 38yrs after the Camp david accord of 1978 which moulded Egypt into a formidable military might, Israel lost the military advantage or at best was in a position where a military offensive with Egypt has become costly, quickly handed over the Sainai to Egypt.

Dont think for once Israel will occupy Golan heights if Syria was a formidable force with Russian diplomatic backing.

Revealed: 30 Top Boko Haram Commanders Set To Surrender, Shekau Confused

No less than 30 top Boko Haram commanders have sent words to their leader, Abubakar Shekau, that they will drop their arms and surrender to the Nigerian Armed Forces soon.

The verbal message sent through one of Shekau’s close contacts by the Boko Haram top fighters is said to have devastated the BH leader who has been experiencing terrible outings in recent times and has been hard put trying to convince the top commanders to stay.

The top commanders are said to have moved ahead and begun a process that would see them surrendering to the Nigerian armed forces soon by fortifying their bunkers in case Shekau sends his men after them.

Feedbacks from sources who have had dealings with the Boko Haram terrorists in recent times have it that most of the operational commanders of the sect are not happy with their leader for not honouring his promise to surrender to the Nigerian military.

Shekau had in March, following the near annihilation of his fighting men given an indication that he will be willing to surrender to the Nigerian military if only to save his life and that of his men only for him to dilly dally on the matter which has incurred the wrath of his top commanders.

More than 40 of the Boko Haram top commanders including including Manzar Halid, Amir Abu Fatima and Nicap, among others were killed last week in a counter attack by the operation Lafiya Dole in what is now a clear indication that the terrorists have been overwhelmed.

High profile commanders and fighters of the Boko Haram namely, Abu Jamratu AL-Naweer, Kaka Bana and Tareta Babakari were also fatally wounded in that operation when Boko Haram terrorists attempted to overrun Banki and other communities in Borno State.

A large number of their equipments , including gun trucks, motorcycles and bicycles were destroyed also by troops.

See the nonsense you wrote to justify cowardise. Lol.

"One French amphibious operation will unite Nigerian troops with their ancestors". France to "occupy deep into Calabar" and Nigeria will not launch a counter-offensive. Israel holds on to foreign lands while Nigeria is forced out of its own land, and Israel is justified. Lol.

You didn't tell us ''why Cameroun took the legal route''. They did after they suffered heavy casualty at the hands of Nigerian troops. Nigerian army launched an attack 24km deep into Cameroun and wasted thousands of their troops watching football match. Their reprisal was met with longe range artillery from Nigerian army and naval attacks. It became clear to them that they stood no chance in war with Nigeria.

If Nigeria did not hanover, what would France have done? Attack Nigeria? You are dumb.

Nigerian troops occupied 3 out of 4 stretches of the Bakassi. Fully defended by military positions and air defences. France would lose thousands of lives to attack and remove Nigerian troops from their positions on the 3 occupied islands. Not worth it for France and their business interest in Nigeria.

And regardless of French support, Nigeria would annihilate Cameroun. In fact, we would annex Cameroun within 1month. President Paul Biya knew that. Nigerian army would overrun Cameroun in any war. Their entire army was just less than 10,000 troops then. France or no France, Cameroun cannot fight Nigeria.

So stop defending cowardise. France or no France, Nations don't surrender their lands. Stop being a coward. This kind of 'surrender mentality' of fear is prevalent in 'that side'. Stop it.

Vietnam fought France and expelled them from their land. Almighty US came to France's aid, yet Vietnam fought and pounded them. If Vietnanese had your mentality, they ''stood no chance''.

Cowardise and fear are endemic in your genetic makeup. This is well known. Your entire thinking is based on fear.

Stop it. Stop being a coward. Stop justifying surrendering your land for fear of France. No nation does that.

BREAKING: SOLDIER CLIMBS TOWER, INSISTS ON COMMITTING SUICIDE.
Posted by News Express

For over an hour, residents of Jalingo, Taraba State, have been struggling to save a military man from committing suicide.

The soldier, whose name is given as Ali, has climbed the Welcome to Taraba Roadblock Tower -over 24fts high, and is threatening to jump down.

He is speaking in Hausa and pidgin, saying: “I want to die. Allow me to jump down and die.” But the youth who have gathered there are begging him: “Please do not jump. We don’t want you to die.”

Ali is seen on the high altitude Tower, attempting severally to jump down, but the people are trying to make sure they save him if he jumps. But they say they prefer he changes his mind and does not jump.

Witnesses said the soldier’s behaviour attracted their attention when they spotted him on top of the tower pulling and throwing down the items of clothing on him.

“We noticed someone climbing the place and pulling off his clothes. We got there to discover he is someone we know. He was left with under pant and an inner vest and poised to jump. We went close and began to beg him,” an eyewitness said.

A close look reveals he has an injury on his left kneecap, which he bandaged

I can't sleep bro one of my close friend was abducted yesterday. It's really horrible I wish he comes out alive man. It's really horrible sincerely. I'm praying God should intervene because all those whom they've abducted since last week were all slaughtered.

Dear God in Heaven please intervene embarassed

This has to be kabe
I highly doubt that, Kabe is a partially agressive fellow, and not a true beliver of Nigeria Military secretive capabilities
Plus he wiuld rather insult to stupor than threaten to report to mod,
Also he doesnt claim to read coded words...
Personality is really different,
Marshal reminds me of a proud one here
kingazbuike- just that this guy love Nigeria too much
