Let's discuss abeg..

1) what's the difference between police duties and dss duties??they seem to be doing the same duties

2)how come our dss who hardly get called to confront criminals are armed with sophisticated weapons(Tabor,jericho 941,uzi,fs2000), while FSARS are only armed with ak47s and two/three extra magazines stapled together with paper tape?


3)I saw a thread on nairaland sometimes ago where one guy was asking which is more feared between army and dss..my question is which is more important to the nation's security between police(notably SARS) and dss?? Anyone that wants to answer this question should bear in mind that violent criminals(cultists,robbers,kidnappers)always flee at the mention of the "SARS"



I noticed that the dss hardly have any negative news of abuse of human rights like other security agencies,i appreciate them for this...but,truth be told,the other security agencies that always abuse human rights seem more hardworking and important to the nation's security than the dss.

The DSS primary function is for the protection of VIPs i.e The President his family, Govs, etc and also task with counter terrorism operations.
As for human rights violation, the DSS is as guilty as other agencies it's just that they're more discreet in their modus operandi. For the kind of weapon they carry, it's only normal for them to use the Tavor series, Uzi etc because those weapons are meant for close quarter combat which is more suitable for DSS to carryout their role in addition to that, they're easy to conceal and carry.
