PDP should be smart enough to usurp that gubernatorial seat going by the idiosyncrasies of those two ugly thief's that belief a whole state belongs to them alone.
Re: Edo Primaries: INEC Releases Update by Jack500: 9:12pm On Jun 09, 2020
This PDP never get sense, why can't they wait for APC primaries first?

Meanwhile, this is game over for obaseki, if he didn't win APC primaries then he is done, he can't even cross to PDP, because they would have concluded their primaries before APC

Those complaining about APC direct primarie, are u aware that PDP Edo State chapter conducted her ward and local government congress today to elect delegates who will vote in their indirect primaries slated for 19th?
Funny enough Obaseki covid19 gazette did not stop them from having above 20 persons at various ward.
Re: Edo Primaries: INEC Releases Update by Bighead9: 9:16pm On Jun 09, 2020

Contrary to popular beliefs,
Direct primary is even more favourable at this covid 19 times.

For Direct primary people just gather at their wards and vote for their flag nearer. And it's done!

But for Indirect primary, people firstly gather at the wards to vote delegates. These delegates in their thousands then gather at the stadium to vote the flag bearer.

With regards to the issue of covid 19, direct is better.
Its a lie joor indirect primaries is far better that is why the other political parties adopted it.

Apart from pdp, all other parties won't have up to 100 delegates. That makes sense than having 3000 plus in a single venue traveling long distances. Which one do you think is safer? 300 plus in different wards or 3000 in a single venue? Be truthful?
the delegates in the indirect can still vote from their respective wards. Is that not the safest?

Where are those claiming that Edo APC will organize Indirect Primary.... 2 weeks and some days Obaseki should start campaigning...
He has started giving covid19 palliatives to APC members. I was shocked to see that on ITV news this evening (Local govt chairman received palliative items from Gov Obaseki to be given to Esan North APC members)

Can you do indirect without ward delegate elections?

Direct is safer and more democratic.

Executive order my foot. It is now obvious that Obaseki has been served more than he can finish.

By the evening of 22nd day of June 2020, Obaseki will realize when Edo can sometimes look like Lagos.

If you are in doubt, ask Ambode.
Dont mind the arrogant F88L!
when he was boasting and insulting all the elders of the party, including the same tinubu he is now running to, when they tried to reconcile himself and the Party Chairman, he thought the Court decision wil favor him and remove Oshiomole, now he is running from Pillar-2-Post.

Thing is, he should be made an example of how not to bite the finger that feeds you, how not to be a rebel in your own party (leave the party if you dont like what they are doing), how not to undermine your own party and how not to be an arrogant, treacherous soul.

Since he claimed and told Mr. President that he has tested 300,000 people for Covid-19 in Edo State, there is nothing to worry about with regards to Covid-19, during the DIRECT primaries. grin grin
INEC should take note.

Oshiomole is the best political asset to have come out of Edo state in recent time, but its unfortunate he is portraying all the qualities and trappings of a demon.

Then why didn’t others adopt it? Keep deceiving urselves. Obseaki will give the final word. He is responsible for the health of the state.

Just dey watch, e go do you like Nollywood.
INEC is a federal body and it has contitutional authority to organise election anywhere in Nigeria and it will be supervising this one.
Obaseki will be placed on house arrest if he tries nonsense, las las Fed Govt wil conduct the elections under a State of Emergency, if he tries to stop the elections. Under that circumstance, his immunity is removed and he cant control federal Security Agencies.
Dont forget that the IGP has control over the CP in Edo State, IGP is selected by the President and the President is a member of oshiomole's APC. grin grin

Of all the 15 political parties its only APC that is insisting on direct primaries in this Covid 19 period.
You guys are ignorant of the meaning of Direct primaries.

Those parties that opted for Indirect primaries, are they not going to conduct Ward Congress in all the 198 wards to elect delegates for the Indirect primary?

Where's the place of Covid 19 here?

After that, the about 10,000 delegates will have to converge at another date to elect the candidate.

Also, where's the place of Covid 19 here?

At that stage, Special Advisers, Commissioners, Personal Assistants to the governor will definitely vote for their Principal thereby giving advantage to the incumbent.

If you can think well, you will realize that Direct primaries is better. Equal chances to all. It's the fairest method.

Thank God we still have intelligent people like you on Nairaland.

Moreso, according to APC constitution, election of delegates for indirect must still take place at ward levels.

In essence, like the name implies, direct primary is much more direct.Indirect is double wahala!

I never know you are this naive....so a student will dictate to waec how to conduct their exams? Inec only take directives from party chairmen not governors...they governors cannot 've a judge in their own case ....Whether you believe it or not doesn't matter. What matters is that Inec has finally released their timetable and is official apc in Edo is going for direct primaries ...since obasaki is popular according to him, let the people speak

The president is not with Oshiomole on this one. He is on his own(one man army) and on the verge of loosing his job again like sm months back. He hasn’t learnt his lesson so he will learn by force.

Obaseki is Apc and Chief security officer of the state. Oshiomole will be arrested if he enters Edo to disrupt Edo primaries.

I beg to disagree.INEC has even stylishly adopted indirect mode from their analysis.

the guy above need to be Isolated. unless If you can explain what you mean by edolite should reject APC.
Now sit down let me lecture you.
1. although there are 15 political parties that registered with INEC but I can tell you there are just two parties in edo state APC and others. if not why should pastor leave PDP for APC and obaseki refused to decamp despite the fact that he will not get the ticket.
2. did you know why other parties choose indirect, it is simply because that they have no viable candidate so they will just try and patch people together and push them yet they will loose to APC
3. if you want democracy to work in Nigeria, political parties have to be structured first. I don't like APC at all but I can tell you that they are working on achieving this at present than any political party in Nigeria. oshiomole played obaseki so that he can fight the
party and it's simple the party is fighting back. so sir don't because of pity for obaseki and hatred for oshiomole not say the truth.
4. if Godwin obaseki has done very well as a governor and he deserve another tenure there is nothing to be afraid of now. akeredolu of ondo state lists 50 achievement in 4 years and he said he is not afraid of direct or indirect primary,. why is obaseki afraid.
5. I would love another person aside pastor and obaseki to be the next governor as you can see the two of them remain the top most choice of the state. This shows our porous the leadership growth of the state is.
Always resist to urge to shalaye......Haba!

I arrest my case.

Adams Oshiomole eventually had his way. Obaseki was just a noise maker.

We told anybody that one to hear, It is only party chairman that INEC recognizes as the mouth piece of any party, not any yeye Governor or even the President

Even with Indirect Primary, delegates have to be elected at Ward Level
Oga calm down! Your concern should be whether APC as a party would be able to hold any form of primary in Edo state come June 22nd. You really don't know what's brewing, especially with that executive order. There's palpable tension in Edo right now, nobody in the state knows the end game, yet most folks online have already declared a winner.
Both men at the centre have everything to lose, it's a make or mar affair; hence they are both ready to go for the spoil.
As I always say, only dialogue can even give APC a dint of hope of retaining Edo state this year. A house divided against itself can never stand. To think otherwise is to live in fool's paradise.
