I strongly disagree with this Sir ,NIMC record is conflicting with Nigeria's having Bank Accounts with BVN Linked of over 40 Millions persons.

Since all BVN Linked accounts have Identification mode of Driver License,International Passport,National ID.

Thanks,this is my take.

You took the words right out of my mouth. They will not register, they will refuse to be counted during census, but on election days, they suddenly know how many they are...

Release the ones that have registered since ages and you will see people trooping in to register. This is the most incompetent parastatal in Nigeria. Tueh!

Well that's because of its uselessness if you really want people to get their IDs then it should be made beneficial to the citizens ...like nobody is giving you dime either you have it or not ...like in the states...you are paid when you just loose your job and ID so your ID is not useless UNLIKE THIS SHITHE CALLED NIGERIA MTCHWWW

It was frustrating reading some poster state that Nigerians are corrupt and this is why Dangote hired Indian workers. Now, quite apart from the fact that , actually, Indians are generally more “corrupt” than Nigerians, some of you that supported that statement need to ask yourselves if Employers in Nigeria have access to potential employees background records? Now, if Nigeria employers have no way of checking the background of those asking them for work, since Nigeria keeps no meaningful citizen databases, is it a wonder that they may employ disreputable individuals? Employers in the West wouldn’t dream of employing people without background check. You keep no records, check no background, and then when your workers turn out criminals, you shout, “NIGERIANS ARE ALL THIEVES, NO GOOD, AND ARE ALL CORRUPT!

I personally believe that Nigerians are the most honest people in the world. If other Nations operated in the same laissez-faire way Nigeria does they would be far worst than Nigeria. The Corruption industry flourishes in any system without a Security Industry. Records keeping is a part of the Security Industry. Nigeria relies far more on luck of ordinary people’s honesty, their professed integrity, than other Nations do and this makes Nigerians extraordinary, (whether forced in the absence of relevant mechanism is the point).

In some ways, Nigeria’s true population is the number of people with credible Nigeria birth certificates and their children. I bet that number would be less than 80 million, the rest of you may as well be illegals. grin

post=90538148:
The foundation of this nation has been destroyed since and prior 1960.

In saner Climes, you are absolutely NOTHING'S without your identity or Social Security Pin/Number.
And they have the database for every citizens.

Where do we even start from in our darling nation?
No database whatsoever,
Someone can commit a crime in Lagos and run to Sokoto, he may be there for years with no one finding him or her,
it's not like that in Obodo oyibo.

There was a country.
You are right. No id , not ni , no job , no life.

A simple thing like id and ni will fix a lot of problems but they will never do it right

Even the educated ones, many don't have national ID cards

In my opinion, there shouldn't be a situation like this, it's not okay. I don't know where the government and local authorities are looking, because someone has let this situation happen. Just think about it, only 38% of the population has some kind of ID. I don't even know what will happen next or what to expect.
