In one chart, covid-19's devastation to black and Latino Americans

It's already clear that the coronavirus pandemic is killing black and Latino people at a very high rate, but new data in recent days show how destructive people of color are to the covid-19 crisis.

BE PREPARED

Everyone is telling you how to NOT catch #coronavirus, but NO ONE is saying what to do if you get it. Thanks to this nurse in the UK for putting this guide together:

Finally, some sensible advice. From a GP Nurse in the UK.

What I have seen a lot of are recommendations for how to try to avoid getting coronavirus in the first place:

• good hand washing
• personal hygiene
• social distancing

but what I have NOT seen a lot of is advice for what happens if you actually get it, which many of us will.
So as your friendly neighborhood Nurse let me make some suggestions:

If you get Covid-19

You basically just want to prepare as though you know you’re going to get a nasty respiratory bug, like bronchitis or pneumonia. You just have the foresight to know it might come your way!

Things to start doing now:

Get 20 minutes sun on your entire body (or as much as possible) every day. This will dramatically increase your Vitamin D levels, which improves your immune system.

If affordable take a good general supplement, plus 2000mg Vit C a day. Include ZINC, SELENIUM & GLUTATHIONE.

Scott’s Emulsion is a great general tonic (cod liver oil)

Things you should actually buy ahead of time:

*Kleenex*

*Paracetamol*

*Cough medicine* of choice (check the label and make sure you're not doubling up on Paracetamol)

*Zinc lozenges*

*Throat spray* like Andolex or TCP

*Honey and lemon* can work just as well!

*Vicks* vaporub for your chest is also a great suggestion.

*A humidifier* would be a good thing to buy and use in your room when you go to bed overnight. (You can also just turn the shower on hot and sit in the bathroom breathing in the steam)

*If you have a history of asthma* and you have a prescription inhaler, make sure the one you have isn’t expired and refill it/get a new one if necessary.

*Meals* This is also a good time to meal prep: make a big batch of your favorite soup to freeze and have on hand.

*Hydrate* hydrate, hydrate! Stock up on whatever your favorite clear fluids are to drink, though tap water is fine you may appreciate some variety!

*For symptom management* and a fever over 38°c take Paracetamol rather than Ibuprofen.

*Rest lots* You should not be leaving your house! Even if you are feeling better you may will still be infectious for fourteen days and older people and those with existing health conditions should be avoided!

*Wear gloves and a mask* to avoid contaminating others in your house

*Isolate* in your bedroom if not living alone, ask friends and family to leave supplies outside to avoid contact.

*Sanitize* your bed linen and clothes frequently by washing and clean your bathroom with recommended sanitizers.

*You DO NOT NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL unless* you are having trouble breathing or your fever is very high (over 39°C) and unmanaged with meds.

90% of healthy adult cases thus far have been managed at home with basic rest/hydration/over-the-counter meds.

If you are worried or in distress or feel your symptoms are getting worse:

*Pre-existing risks* If you have a pre-existing lung condition (COPD, emphysema, lung cancer) or are on immunosuppressants, now is a great time to talk to your Doctor or specialist about what they would like you to do if you get sick.

*Children* One major relief to you parents is that kids do VERY well with coronavirus, they usually bounce back in a few days (but they will still be infectious) Just use pediatric dosing .

*Be calm and prepare rationally* and everything will be fine. This is to inform us all that the pH for corona virus varies from 5.5 to 8.5.

All we need to do, to beat corona virus, we need to take more of an alkaline foods that are above the above pH level of the Virus.

Some of which are:

*Lemon - 9.9pH*
*Lime - 8.2pH*
*Avocado - 15.6pH*
*Garlic - 13.2pH*
*Mango - 8.7pH*
*Tangerine - 8.5pH*
*Pineapple - 12.7pH*
*Dandelion - 22.7pH*
*Orange - 9.2pH*

How do you know you have coronavirus?

1. Itching in the throat
2. Dry throat
3. Dry couch
4. High temperature
5. Shortness of breath
6. Loss of sense of taste & smell
7. Covid toes - toes turning blue/black
8. Repeated sneezing.

Some or all of the above

So where you notice these things quickly take warm/hot water with lemon and drink. (You may add chopped garlic, ginger, teaspoon turmeric )

Do not keep this information to yourself only. Pass it to all your family and friends.
OK.

Do not keep this information to yourself only. Pass it to all your family and friends.

Itchy throat does not mean you have the coronavirus. Itching in the throat can be caused by food allergies, acid reflux, and even dehydration. It doesn't mean you have the coronavirus. As a matter of fact, itching throat is not a common symptom of the coronavirus.

Dry throat also does not mean you have the coronavirus. If you don't drink enough fluids, you will have a dry throat. If you sleep with your mouth open, you will have a dry throat. If you live in a dry environment (especially during Harmattan), you will have a dry throat. Dry throat is not a common symptom of the coronavirus.

Dry cough also does not mean you have the coronavirus. Dry coughs can be caused by cold and flu as well. However, the coronavirus cough is persistent, and leaves you out of breath. Some experts describe it as continuous, that is, sometimes lasting an hour. Dry cough is a common symptom of the coronavirus, but it is also a common symptom of another viral infection, the flu.

High temperature also does not mean you have the coronavirus. High temperature is a common symptom of the coronavirus, but it is also a common symptom of nearly if not all of viral and bacterial infections because it is the body's way of telling that something terrible has infiltrated the body system.

Shortness of breath is a common symptom of the coronavirus. But still, it doesn't mean you have the coronavirus. Shortness of breath is also a symptom for even far worse medical conditions than the coronavirus such as congestive heart failure.

Loss of sense of taste and smell is not a common symptom of the coronavirus. A person who has temporarily lost his sense of taste and smell may be suffering from a cold or the flu, and not necessarily from Covid-19.

Repeated sneezing is not even a symptom.

So, how does one know that they have the coronavirus? There is only one way to know? Through testing. Because the common symptoms of the coronavirus are similar to the symptoms of either cold, the flu or both the cold and the flu.

The health workers with NCDC are collecting allowances. The workers produced the figures and give them to NCDC and they as well add to what is given to them

COVID-19 is caused by a virus and malaria is caused by a protozoa. The body immune cells that attack and keep vigilance against malaria parasite can't mount response against an unknown entity cos it's new to the system.

In addition, globally 98% of COVID-19 patients are either assymptomatic or have mild to moderate symptoms, hence it's no rocket science to assume such here too. Besides you have no verifiable data to prove your claims and considering COVID-19 has been shown to attack more people of colours including blacks your theory won't possibly suffice as it's grossly defective. Brazil, SA etc are tropical countries and COVID-19 ain't taking it easy on them. The only reason you have got lesser statistics in Nigeria are simply cos we massively undertesting (less than 0.1% of our population so far) and our poor data keeping system due to socioeconomic factors.

Lastly, COVID-19 and malaria are two separate entities with different symptomatology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. Don't get it twisted!

then why are we having less death cases as compared to the west ? we know dat we are hugely under testing, so what's the magic ?

na so
there is big politics in this thing, especially in Akwq Ibom.
back then we always has 1case, 2cases, 3 or 4 at most, all of a sudden, it was 3 days to the launching of the isolation centre that governor Udom built, and we had 10cases on the first day, and 10cases on the 2nd day and the next udom unveiled the centre for them, and since then, we've not had a single case.

does it mean the 20cases in 2days did not have a single contact ? does it mean that even with our proximity to Rivers state, that is always staging spot with the top 4 on the table that we've not had a single case coming in ? even Aba that had a big spike, is where we buy everything...

the problem is not with the government acting a script, the problem is that they don't even pay a good script writer..
there is corona in Nigeria and its serious, but the government are just making movie scripts off it, and their stories sulks.
The government are not being sincere, and when you as a concerned citizen ask questions some i too know all, self educated people will come to attack you.

The thing is simple, the government are not doing well in this fight and it only means one thing, they want it to continue.

This covid 19 in Nigeria is a total scam. Yes the sickness is here but the way Lagos, Rivers and other states are increasing there cases is outrageous. For example, one should make out time to go this isolation centers, you will now believe what I am telling you. This country is a total scam,if you have malaria is covid 19

Like the ncdc dg said before states aren't sending samples for testing. Akwa ibom just had their own testing lab so maybe it'll increase testing of samples in the state. Either some governors are going by the covid isn't lethal here narrative so let's just test a few samples or they are just clueless.
And you believe NCDC, the agency that do not believe they ever do anything wrong, look at the situation of coronavirus in Nigeria, still NCDC is always looking for who to blame always.

First it was no testing kits, then Nigerians are not coming out for testing, now governors are not sending much samples.

All we need to do, to beat corona virus, we need to take more of an alkaline foods that are above the above pH level of the Virus.

Some of which are:

*Lemon - 9.9pH*
*Lime - 8.2pH*
*Avocado - 15.6pH*
*Garlic - 13.2pH*
*Mango - 8.7pH*
*Tangerine - 8.5pH*
*Pineapple - 12.7pH*
*Dandelion - 22.7pH*
*Orange - 9.2pH*

How do you know you have coronavirus?

1. Itching in the throat
2. Dry throat
3. Dry couch
4. High temperature
5. Shortness of breath
6. Loss of sense of taste & smell
7. Covid toes - toes turning blue/black
8. Repeated sneezing.

Some or all of the above

So where you notice these things quickly take warm/hot water with lemon and drink. (You may add chopped garlic, ginger, teaspoon turmeric )

Do not keep this information to yourself only. Pass it to all your family and friends.
Ok , thanks.

What did you people mean when you say IT HAS COME TO STAY. I consider this a careless statement. Even those in authority use this statement. Why didn't Ebola stay? we fought it to leave. Yes it has come and it will leave by every one taking responsibilities.

Police now sells face mask 1000 to those that have turned their own to pocket mask. Even if you have your face mask in your pocket, bag or holding it without putting it on, you don buy another one from them at 1k be that or you reach station...... .

I don't believe Covid 19 is real in Nigeria. All this livescores are just a way to scared people, so that people won't pay attention as they're looting our fund. They have successfully diverted our attention to the extend that we no longer ask for accountability and good governance from them again. All we want now is "they should not kill us, we want to breathe." Plan-scam-demic!

BAZ001:
1,753 positive cases in 3days

Well Seems Covid19 will be around for a while
we should start learning how to live with it. It's not a death sentence unless you have underlying sickness.
People that said we have more than 100,000 cases in Nigeria might be right after all we haven't tested 1% of the population.

My Educated illiterates analyzing how this is fake
In Nigeria but it is real abroad make una continue.

But death rate is scary o

The Death rate is not scary compared to what is happening in other countries.

Besides, check the death rate for malaria and hunger since the lockdown.

Nigerians generally do not believe until they are personally affected.
