If you like record 5000 cases daily, so far it doesn't lead to total lockdown again. Covid 419 in Nigeria.

Exactly why is Kano and other northern state have low cases except Lagos and other Western states. There is something NCDC is not telling us.
people are not availing themselves for test in Kano. The reason for the low cases.

Confirmed cases will continue to increase as long as we don't adhere to Safety measures. Kano state where I live, people are not wearing face mask and there is nothing like social distancing anywhere. On Wednesday I went to sabon gari market to get some food stuffs, in that particular area of the market it was just me and one other person that wore face mask. The other person removed his face mask because he felt awkward because people are not complying with safety measures. Pls let's adhere to safety measures.

I don tire for this updates seff..

This Lagos cases seff ehn, where're they coming from gan.

the major problem in Lagos and maybe other parts of Nigeria is d very slow rate of testing... ncdc in Lagos has a huge backlog of result awaiting to be released,, that's why d problem is compounded.... my sister is a nurse in Lagos,,she started having slight symptoms since last Monday,, after calling ncdc,,they could not test her till Wednesday last week and told her d result will be out D's past Monday,,, today is Friday,, we have not yet heard from ncdc because they say there is a huge backlog... now if my sister is careless,,she can easily infect others wit d virus all dz days she's been self isolating.... and who says self isolation is d key,,how can one self isolate in a family house in Lagos,,, is DAT possible? thank God my sister thinks she doesn't have d virus but something else and she has already taking medications and she's better now....now let's use my sister as a case study for every case in Lagos,, u see DAT d virus cannot be contained because of d very slow rate of not just d test but of getting d result,, otherwise by now,,d virus should have been contained in Nigeria,, but no,,our government is too docile at handling issues.... Also let's not forget we are in raining season,, flu like conditions have risen,,as I speak,,in my house,,myself,, my wife and my daughter are either treating sore throat,,cough or catarrh...so d daily cases will surely spike now... but as of D's month of rains, not every positive case ncdc records are actually covid,,they could be other slight flu like conditions

Everybody come ooh. NCDC in Lagos don dey overwhelmed already, (though it is expected going with the numbers of positive cases)

Someone went for covid19 test and the test result came out positive after 17days. (During d self isolation while waiting for result d person had symptoms/ slight illness and was busting immune system, hot water, chloroquine, ginger and all.) by the time result came he was already feeling better.
So NCDC phoned that they will come and pick him since he was positive.

My brothers and sisters that was May nah June we dey NCDC still dey come.
He come go do test again last week and result came out this week negative.

During lockdown
Govt said they will give palliatives - nothing
Govt will give 2 months electricity bill free - nothing.

Now govt might not test or treat Covid 19 for free again after sometime.
You will be taking care of yourself as if na malaria.
Typical of Nigerian govt where her citizens device means to survive ( Generator for power, bole hole for water, self medication cos if u wait for govt you go wait tire.)

So it's better you stay safe no use money wey u suppose take chop dey go treat Covid of which no known treatment yet.

You can see that your country is useless...

I like the fact that you don't expect anything form this country... the break up of this entity is a must.

That is a blessing in disguise. Corrupt practices in this Covid-19 stuff is due to the free money (from donations & FG) involved. Once the money pit is drying up..the true reflection of Covid-19 in Nigeria will become evident.

The biggest problem in this country remain "corruption".

I know most NCDC staffs and those on their pay roll wont like this my statement. So their insults ate welcomed.

BE PREPARED

Everyone is telling you how to NOT catch #coronavirus, but NO ONE is saying what to do if you get it. Thanks to this nurse in the UK for putting this guide together:

Finally, some sensible advice. From a GP Nurse in the UK.

What I have seen a lot of are recommendations for how to try to avoid getting coronavirus in the first place:

• good hand washing
• personal hygiene
• social distancing

but what I have NOT seen a lot of is advice for what happens if you actually get it, which many of us will.
So as your friendly neighborhood Nurse let me make some suggestions:

If you get Covid-19

You basically just want to prepare as though you know you’re going to get a nasty respiratory bug, like bronchitis or pneumonia. You just have the foresight to know it might come your way!

Things to start doing now:

Get 20 minutes sun on your entire body (or as much as possible) every day. This will dramatically increase your Vitamin D levels, which improves your immune system.

If affordable take a good general supplement, plus 2000mg Vit C a day. Include ZINC, SELENIUM & GLUTATHIONE.

Scott’s Emulsion is a great general tonic (cod liver oil)

Things you should actually buy ahead of time:

*Kleenex*

*Paracetamol*

*Cough medicine* of choice (check the label and make sure you're not doubling up on Paracetamol)

*Zinc lozenges*

*Throat spray* like Andolex or TCP

*Honey and lemon* can work just as well!

*Vicks* vaporub for your chest is also a great suggestion.

*A humidifier* would be a good thing to buy and use in your room when you go to bed overnight. (You can also just turn the shower on hot and sit in the bathroom breathing in the steam)

*If you have a history of asthma* and you have a prescription inhaler, make sure the one you have isn’t expired and refill it/get a new one if necessary.

*Meals* This is also a good time to meal prep: make a big batch of your favorite soup to freeze and have on hand.

*Hydrate* hydrate, hydrate! Stock up on whatever your favorite clear fluids are to drink, though tap water is fine you may appreciate some variety!

*For symptom management* and a fever over 38°c take Paracetamol rather than Ibuprofen.

*Rest lots* You should not be leaving your house! Even if you are feeling better you may will still be infectious for fourteen days and older people and those with existing health conditions should be avoided!

*Wear gloves and a mask* to avoid contaminating others in your house

*Isolate* in your bedroom if not living alone, ask friends and family to leave supplies outside to avoid contact.

*Sanitize* your bed linen and clothes frequently by washing and clean your bathroom with recommended sanitizers.

*You DO NOT NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL unless* you are having trouble breathing or your fever is very high (over 39°C) and unmanaged with meds.

90% of healthy adult cases thus far have been managed at home with basic rest/hydration/over-the-counter meds.

If you are worried or in distress or feel your symptoms are getting worse:

*Pre-existing risks* If you have a pre-existing lung condition (COPD, emphysema, lung cancer) or are on immunosuppressants, now is a great time to talk to your Doctor or specialist about what they would like you to do if you get sick.

*Children* One major relief to you parents is that kids do VERY well with coronavirus, they usually bounce back in a few days (but they will still be infectious) Just use pediatric dosing .

*Be calm and prepare rationally* and everything will be fine. This is to inform us all that the pH for corona virus varies from 5.5 to 8.5.

All we need to do, to beat corona virus, we need to take more of an alkaline foods that are above the above pH level of the Virus.

Some of which are:

*Lemon - 9.9pH*
*Lime - 8.2pH*
*Avocado - 15.6pH*
*Garlic - 13.2pH*
*Mango - 8.7pH*
*Tangerine - 8.5pH*
*Pineapple - 12.7pH*
*Dandelion - 22.7pH*
*Orange - 9.2pH*

How do you know you have coronavirus?

1. Itching in the throat
2. Dry throat
3. Dry couch
4. High temperature
5. Shortness of breath
6. Loss of sense of taste & smell
7. Covid toes - toes turning blue/black
8. Repeated sneezing.

Some or all of the above

So where you notice these things quickly take warm/hot water with lemon and drink. (You may add chopped garlic, ginger, teaspoon turmeric )

Do not keep this information to yourself only. Pass it to all your family and friends.

hmmm
