To be honest bro! I was indifferent. I was surprised that there was an African country hosting the World Cup, thereby arousing my interest and curiosity about South Africa.

That's one of the benefits of hosting big events. You receive new fans as a country and those that didn't know you existed get interested in you.

I'm glad you're learning a local language. It will help you better intergrate. Nigerians fail to integrate and that's why there are tensions.

If you weren't in South Africa during that time you missed out...PERIOD.That was once in a lifetime moment that is very unlikely to be replicated even if they brought the FIFA world cup back to SA.The sequel will never be as good as the debut.

We want the Olympics now. Who do you think will get to host them first in Africa? SA, Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya?

Not all bro. Those who are bitter are just frustrated. Nigeria is tough. You have to live in Nigeria to understand why folks down there are bitter.

Dey shouldnt take it out on others...SA is not the cause of their misery.

Okay. That means Nigeria too is incapable of holding big events because it's full of blacks. Infavt, Nigeria has never a hosted a global event before. grin Hmm... Niggers hey.

FYI, soccer is a black sport in SA. Your whites have no interest in developing the sport. So, that World Cup was bidded for, planned, developed and delivered by black South Africans. tongue

Depends on your criteria. In terms of the football itself, Mexico 86 is the best (of the world cup I've seen). In terms of sentiments, USA 94 is the best being the first Nigeria would qualify for.

What I remember most clearly is that darned vuvulevu or whatever drowning out the referees whistle. It got to so bad the government banned spectators from bringing it to the stadium, but trust Africans; we are United in stubbornness. They still managed to sneak it in and create their musical racket.

Don't worry, IceyJayz is a trusted troll on everything SA. He says he hates SA with a passion and has previously advised his friends from investing in the country because us lazy black xenophobes will loot those investments. Apparently without Nigeria SA will sink. Ironically, he's in Dubai fleeing harsh living conditions and severe underdevelopment in Nigeria. grin

Bro, count Nigeria out. As sad it may seem, Nigeria doesn’t have the capacity( infrastructures) to host any global event. Heck, they don’t even have stable electricity. Let’s fix electricity first, upgrade the infrastructure before thinking of hosting global event like world up or Olympics. So I did my research and found out that for Nigeria to be at the level South Africa is now. Nigeria would have to spend a whooping $200B- $300B aggressively for a period of 10-20 years, with zero corruption. Every dollar spent must be accounted for. Now that’s a very task to accomplish in Nigeria, because of the deep rooted corruption in the government. Now, that’s next to impossible, plus where would they get that kind of money. Nigeria had the opportunity to become at least a middle income country like South Africa and other Asian countries but squandered that opportunity. It’s a sad situation. Really sad

Lol you crazy bro! You think I live in zoo where you have animals roaming without a leach? South Africa is 100% safer than Nigeria bro! All that xenophobic attack happens in the township. Plus I can understand the frustration of those folks in the townships who carry out those attack. Why would you go to their townships sell drugs and traffic their girls into prostitution and whatnot. The way some of our country men behave in this country and the illegal things they engage in, is enough reason for those folks to react in that way.

The living condition in SA, is much better, if not amongst the best in Africa. You have a steadily growing middle class. I reckon it will only get better with time.

I like the way you tell it like it is. Every country has its issues (SA too) but those are best solved when people acknowledge them. I find Nigerians make too many excuses for the mess they're in and hype themselves on none existent things. To make themselves feel better they also try pull others down, like black South Africans. You are a breath of fresh air.

Nigeria problem is corruption just like any other countries, if we can tackle and kill corruption, things will get more better.

One of the dumbest things I've heard.
In other words, you're saying it will be ok and perfectly justified for them to kill you?
Anyways, for your information,South Africa's murder rates is 4x that of Nigeria.

Dude nobody is justifying the xenophobic attack and killings. Why don’t you look at the root cause of the problem instead of the symptom. And no the murder rate of SA, isn’t higher than Nigeria. You lie my brother. Let’s try to be factual and objective in our assessment of the matter.

Your sentiments are partly shared but what you should remember is there's already a stereotype on Nigerians thats stuck with many South Africans..

You could live your life comfortably but I'll advice you to be weary...don't throw caution to the wind because you're learning Zulu and 'integrating'.

The general perception of you changes when you live your comfort zone....your comfort zone here being where you are accepted.

Just an advice.
