I never doubt the possibility of biafra breaking away besides Many countries have lost a part of it lets say sudan ,Ethiopia,Russia but I doubt if Nigeria will be dissolved by this event. Nigeria will still exist why?it's simple most inhabitants of Nigeria are not ready or interested in change its obvious here on nairaland .
almost every part of Nigeria seeks secession but only the Igbos are serious about it they have being on it for almost 50 years the rest ethnic groups lack the guts or are afraid of war in Fact what is keeping other ethnic groups in Nigeria Is not love no it's Is the fear of war and the stigma that comes after it nobody wants to experience what the Igbos experience in civil war its was bloody..

paraventure the Igbos breakaway from Nigeria today Nigeria will still remain and nothing else can dissolve it again they case will be like sudan and Ethiopia no African nation has ever totally dissolved after loosing a part of it.

That is not true. Igbo believe in one Nigeria but Nigeria keep suppressing them.

Fact of the matter is, ANY ethnicity or region (besides the Fulani or core muslim north) that manages to break free from 'one Nigeria' will set the ball in motion that will see others rushing for the exit door too! Tell me what has changed now from when Awo declared (and i paraphrase), 'if by omisssion or commission Biafra is allowed to secede, the Yoruba nation wouldn't bother staying behind to see how 'one Nigeria' works out with just them and the north'!

how will it happen?that's my question. will Yorubas declare war on FG to give them their own freedom like Ojukwu did in 1967.if you even resort to peaceful means it will take decades to achieve remember Nigeria is very Good at holding people down and the last thing the yorubas will do is to resort to war.
