The federal government has received a comprehensive plan, ‘the Nigeria Electrification Roadmap: Technical and Commercial Proposal,’ from German power firm, Siemens, on how the firm would help raise the country’s power supply capacity to 25,000 megawatts (MW).Source: https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2019/08/05/fg-gets-siemens-plan-to-raise-power-supply-to-25000mw/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

I think with this we are hopeful of witnessing a change in power supply in Nigeria but hey guys, do you know what I see..with this massive infrastructural upgrade, enough money is being put in this hence I see a situation where everyone is meant to pay his electricity bill. It will no longer be monkey dey work baboon dey chop, bcoz so many people don't pay light bill in Nigeria..so let's be prepared to pay more but I also know that guys will be happy to pay when they are seeing the light... We pray it won't ba another failed government program like we use to witness it in Nigeria |

Always planning with the mouth; not practical steps! When I see Togo and Ghana, I hate Nigeria more. |

Hmmmmmmm, nice plan if properly implemented. The only question I have is what is the criteria for the AKK project by the NNPC as I can't see any corresponding project in the southern part of the country. One of the major reasons so many projects are left abandoned is a result of general populace not seeing it as theirs, thus when someone of opposing sides get there, he or she neglect to continue with it. |

edoairways:Political parties are meant to use what they have done while given little opportunity to seek for more opportunities, so I see nothing wrong with that. Let them turn Nigeria to Dubai if they can and use it to campaign. In respect to project, this govt is above board, however, their human rights abuse, insecurity and lack of orderliness is in a class of its own |

I have read and heard this before.. The proposal was sequel to the signing of a letter of Agreement on Nigerian Electrification Roadmap, conceived to deliver 7,000 megawatts of electricity in 2021But this look achievable though |

OlujobaSamuel:also said a SCADA for the 11 distribution companies would be implemented as well as a gas processing facility to generate 1,200MW of power from the country’s flare gas sites with 36 and 48 months....southern projects |

I don't join in playing blind opposition... So, I'm gonna give kudos to Buhari govt for this. And considering that they are employing the services of a German firm makes it more laudable. Another good news is that there is no plan to dislodge the Gencos and Discos. Not like I own any stake in those companies, but it's good their investment is secure. But I need to know why NNPC planned to build three power stations and they are all located in the North. Why are this people this tribalistic? Manbilla power plant is touted to possess the ability to generate 3050 MW of electricity when completed, now NNPC is planning to build 3 power plants with combined capacity of 4050MW, all in the North. The South nko? Nevertheless, I think for the first time in a long time, I can see a very sound and practical step taken towards solving the problem of electricity in this country. Kudos PMB! #AWOL |

stonemasonn:The SCADA is nationwide, and it's a kinda check system for better checks and balances. Btw, I wasn't talking about the project by Siemens if you read me well, AKK is a project already underway by NNPC but to be acquired by Siemens, the corresponding project for that in the Southern region is Agura 450mw in Lagos. |
