Happy 58th birthday to Femi Kuti

Olufela Olufemi Anikulapo Kuti (born 16 June 1962), popularly known as Femi Kuti, is a Nigerian musician born in London and raised in Lagos. He is the eldest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti and a grandchild of political campaigner, women's rights activist and traditional aristocrat Funmilayo Ransome Kuti.

Femi Kuti began his musical career playing in his father's band, Egypt 80. In 1986, Femi started his own band, Positive Force, establishing himself as an artist independent of his father's massive legacy.

HBD to u man...the only son that tried following his fathers footsteps..he tried to give us memories about his fathers kinda music, but he is not that brave, controversial and outspoken like his father...whenever i hear femi sings i do wish the great fela is here during our time, because i would like to kno if he would still criticize this joke of a country or if the advanced standard of living and ever increasing need for cash n wealth would make it easier for our leaders to shut him down with cash or D.S.S but i dnt think so...fela is the greatest musical taliban i kno in music, if he can stand the test of time and speak for the people during the ruthless military regime practiced in the days of babangida and obj, i think he would do more if he is present now...jus too bad he left the bar too high for any other musicaian to reach, even femi...dts why i dnt fancy greatmen allowing thier kids to follow same path of career, the kids may fail due to so much pressure to reach thier fathers peak...ennoy ur day femi..
