B2mario:Oga when I get enough good pictures to warrant opening an Aba thread, we would now begin discussions on why in the light of ouk's infrastructural development, it hasn't been possible to get a thread on abia past two pages .we won't have this discussion on a thread for development in imo state |

Yampotatocarrot:You're right. I was shocked when I got to village in Mbaise and discovered that lands in interior communities now goes for as high as one million naira!! I mean lands in a rural community!! I think very high population density is causing it and areas around Mbaise and Owerri is highly populated. |
| Re: Few Pics From Imo State by asha80(m): 9:46pm On Jun 15, 2020 |
proeast:mbaise has always being densely populated though |
| Re: Few Pics From Imo State by asha80(m): 9:48pm On Jun 15, 2020 |
Yampotatocarrot:okigwe and environs arent really densely populated so it will take a long while to get to okigwe |

B2mario:Orji Uzor did nothing in Abia state. I was in Aba between 1999 and 2007, and his performance at best was mediocre. He also laid the foundation for the bastardization of Abia since 1999. Abia is today the most backward state in the SE in terms of infrastructure. Relatively newly created states like Ebonyi now has the kind of infrastructure Abia people can only dream of, and this shame could be traced to Orji Uzor for laying a very bad foundation. |

proeast:My brother, when we built on all the lands, there'll be no space for agriculture again o. Look at Anambra state, setting up mega farms while we are just concerned with building mansions with no economic value, as someone rightly pointed out. Something needs to be done to save land for agriculture |
| Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Yampotatocarrot(m): 10:05pm On Jun 15, 2020 |
asha80:Meaning that Okigwe could set itself up to be the agricultural hub of Imo state and even Abia state |
| Re: Few Pics From Imo State by asha80(m): 10:13pm On Jun 15, 2020 |
Yampotatocarrot:for abia agricultural hub has areas in ngwa land that can feel that gap..for imo it is within ngor okpala and oguta axis..okigwe soil can be rather rocky ..I know because I schooled there |

Abagworo:Owerri-Orlu-Ekwulobia-Awka road is a completely different road. The Orlu-Ekwulobia-Awka section was added during Arthur Nzeribe tenure as senator. Owerri-Orlu-Akokwa road is no replacement for Owerri-Orlu-Ekwulobia-Awka road. Natural disaster has been worst on Orlu to Akokwa road which stops at Akokwa. The road fails nearly every two years, no matter the contractor. It lasted longest after it was rebuilt during Udenwa government. |
| Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Yampotatocarrot(m): 3:34am On Jun 16, 2020 |
discusant:All I hear is "natural disaster", what natural disaster are you guys mentioning here, erosion? Well, if the area isn't good for the road to pass through (although I'm sure construction companies can work this out), then it makes logical sense for an alternative road to be built somewhere else... The road mustn't pass through Owerri-Orlu-Ekwulobia-Awka, so that we don't keep wasting money on a road that'll fail nearly every two years |

Instead of one mans house occupying a land section Ten men house can occupy a land section The reason I see most for absence of high rises is 1 electric city 2 want to build your own house 3 government is not aiding with laws and policies that focus on land use They even go ahead to build housing units 4 water to service high floors If the govt can give that encouragement And tell people who want to build housing to build it in groups There will surely be a way to get around it |

eduj:It has not been possible not because the state is lacking infrastructural development but because none of the indigenes care to do that. Abia is 50% better than most Nigerian state, politics aside. Do you really need an online picture before you do what you intend to do? Travel to Aba yourself and get first hand information. Better still, there was a thread open by face on nairaland during Orji Uzor regime search for it. Whatever Umuahia, Abiriba and Igberre is today was Orji Uzor kalu. Travel to Abia and see for yourself leave media blackmail. I'm sure when you go there you can't believe yourself. |
| Re: Few Pics From Imo State by TEDHorsePower: 3:21pm On Jun 16, 2020 |
This clown stop fooling yourself. Mention just one state in Nigeria that Abia state is better than in infrastructure. Even Bornu state that's at war is by far better than Abia state. Take note that Abia your state is long gone. ![]() [s] B2mario:[/s] |

proeast:You must be sick if you said so. Maybe you were a baby then. Who planned and constructed Aguiyi ironsi/government layout in umuahia? Who dualised library road, akanu ibiam and mission-hill road in umuahia? Who built ehimini housing estate? Who reconstructed portharcourt-enugu road? who asphalted all the township roads in Aba north and south? Who constructed Ekenna road and adjoining roads connecting Ekenna and Okigwe? Who tarred all the roads in old and new GRA Aba? Who constructed umule, Umuocham and some of the adjoining roads? Who reconstructed faulks road and Osusu road? Who constructed Owerri road and cemetery road. Who constructed MCC? Who reintroduced free education in Abia? Who upgraded Absu? In overrail Aba, any tarred road apart of Osusu road, Okigwe road, Omuma road and faulks road were constructed by Orji Uzor kalu. If you were small then please go and ask question. Any strong Igbo man that has a presidential aspiration must be tarnished in the face of media like Rochas Okorocha after all the good work he has done. Take it or leave it, Orji Uzor nwa Kalu did very well in his first tenure before the face-off between him and Obasanjo. I heard Obasanjo stopped Abia allocation in order to frustrate him which I've not confirmed. Orji Uzor kalu is innocent of most of the things people are saying about him, one bad about Nigerians is that when they heard that someone is a devil whether confirmed or not they will add voice to it. He is accused of embezzling 7billion naira for the whole 8yrs he ruled as a governor while some people that ruled just for one tenure and some 8 months embezzled more than 19billion naira. Run the analysis and give me result. You were in Aba during his regime, ikukwara nkwu Orji Uzor? Do you receive his costomised maths set? |

Hahahaha jumping from pillar to post and from post to pillar. Where are all these audio projects today? Aba still remains the shithole pit toilet while Umuahia is still a rural. Again, the guy you quoted said that Abia state is the worst state in Nigeria and SE in particular. Prove him wrong with pictures and facts. Osetigoo ![]() [s] B2mario:[/s] |

Javierleon:For this, there is something similar to it coming to Imo state. The company will build about 4/5 storey building and individuals will buy different units in the building. I think it's a good idea and it's actually cheaper for you that way. I hope they make it quick, they are just testing the ground and currently building one in Enugu state. |

B2mario:You really must be a paid sycophant to be saying all these trash. I was in secondary school in 1999 when Orji Uzor contested against Eze Ogbulafor. His deputy then Enyinaya Abaribe used to visit his friend who was our neighbor then. Orji Uzor tarred some roads in "Town" area of Aba then, especially those roads off East Street and some others during his first tenure and people were hailing him action governor. Fast forward to his second tenure and he was nowhere to be found and all those roads went bad. Sanitation problem did not start today, it was equally present then. If he had ended his bad governance in 2007, it would have been bad enough but he went the extra mile of trying to become a godfather along with his mother. The mother was living in Aba then and people had to go her house whether commissioners, contractors etc to seek her blessings. There was even a popular mantra then about "...igaala na nke mma Orji Uzor ga gbaa egwusi?..." TA Orji was foisted on ndi Abia by Orji Uzor. TA was his chief of staff and he was picked up by EFCC for questioning during that time but Orji Uzor rigged him in. Orji Uzor's 8 years and TA Orji's 8 years were the locust years that destroyed Abia. |

asha80:Ohaji is another important agrarian community in Imo state. Ngor Okpala also has large expanse of lands that can be used for mechanized farming. |

Yampotatocarrot:Buhari military government came and the road contractor disappeared without building a required bridge on Urashi river. Thereafter floods came and damaged many parts of the road. Federal roads join historic locations to other places. Awka-Orlu-Owerri road was designed to join the three ancient towns of Awka, Orlu and Owerri to Abuja. There is no natural earth disaster on the Ekwulobia-Orlu section of the road worse than uneven surface in other places where federal roads were built |
