Metrix147:
Members of the Abia State inter-ministerial committee for COVID-19, on Wednesday, stormed the Commercial city of Aba on enforcement visit and sealed Chapel of Answer Church along jubilee road as well as the electronic plaza in Ariaria international market.

The team which was led by the Chairman of the Committee who is also the secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barr Chris Ezem, visited two churches in the city, the central mosque along Hospital road and also Ariaria international market, expressed worries over the level of compliance to COVID-19 prevention and control guidelines issued by the state government, and appealed to residents to take the fight against the disease serious to avert looming danger.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfDBONnchTc
At the Chapel of Answers Church, Barr Ezem who was visibly angered by the fact that the members were conducting midweek service in defiance of the protocols on religious worship for only Fridays for Muslims, Saturdays, and Sundays for Christians, also condemned what he described as non-observance of social distancing by the worshipers as well as non-wearing of face masks by many of those found inside the church. According to him, "religious worship centers must partner with government to arrest the growing number of infections recorded in Aba as it is Biblical to do so, and we cannot afford to sit idly and watch our people being exposed to this deadly virus that is threatening to kill as many people as it can find in the world”.

At the central mosque in Aba, the SSG who addressed shop owners and the leaders of the mosque warned against trading in the night during curfew hours as well as loading and offloading interstate buses from the northern part of the country. He expressed displeasure over reports of non-compliance with the compulsory wearing of face masks, maintenance of social distance, and gathering of not more than 50 persons during worship streams. He also stated that any further violations will lead to the indefinite closure of the mosque.

Why is social distancing enforced in the church when it is not being enforced also in the market? The world and hypocrisy.

Meanwhile their governor is isolating in another state.

Well we are in for a long ride though it might take time for the vaccine to be produced but it'll be over someday.
The method I would have suggested for the state governors should be strict obedience to social distancing rules , and market places and banks should be opened at various intervals so that those who need food and money respectively would be able to meet their needs.
By the way these time is when the fed. Govt should have shown how and why they should be voted in for another term, they should have done brutal palliative distribution even to remote villages thats why they've got ministries and administrative body that are tasked for situations like these.
They should have employed the likes of indeginous companies such as BUA,DANGOTE,GOLDEN PENNY, Etc. To have been able to distribute food stuff to the whole of Nigeria. Fg can't say they dont have that power, the national population comision involved , various constitutional provinces to be supplied with food stuffs I mean aggressive palliative distribution. Then the military and paramilitary should be in place with proper PPE gadgets to monitor the movement of persons from one place to another, this is very possible but meanwhile as a sensible politician these is a very large opportunity that I've not even seen one FG representative making use of.
If they could even achieve up to 70-80% of these apart from the political view , there would have been a very low state of the virus in Nigeria.
More so the intl bodies would have commended FG for a job well done , the burden on private companies and individual SME would have been lesser . At least in a week there should be distribution of food stuff twice for every body.

But it's about how long Nigeria will be a reservoir for the virus if we keep waiting for a vaccine that might not come sad

that's why I stated what I did in my previous post, according to news it might take up to a year or two before the bmvaccine would be.

Start with the markets. Or the covid-19 is afraid of markets?

Just tell the people you are agents of islamization, why all the efforts concentrating on churches. Who is checking the mosques?

Please check your records again and get your facts right, it is not Aba people. Aba never said there is no covid 19. If you still remember,Aba was the first in Nigeria to start producing in commercial quantity,Nose mask to protect people against covid 19. They cant turn arround and say there is no covid 19,that will be bad business for them.

As long as majority of South Easterners thinks COVID-19 is not real, they will never follow NCDC rules, right now the people to fear most and avoid most are those that thinks COVID-19 is a hoax.
