Baba Valarinz, I am presently in the market for a car and Volvo is one of the cars I am considering. Please what is the reliability of 2008/2009 Volvo s80 3.2? Does it have a timing belt or timing chain? Are the parts available at the local market? Please don't ignore bros!

Oga Driving, the 08/09 S80 is a very good option. It uses a timing chain too and parts won't be an issue too.

OK, am in love with the xc90,but where I stay in Akwa Ibom the mechanics are not readily available and I have been looking around for even part dealers non in sight yet.
Again being added to whatsapp will afford me discuss with you privately,i don't want to come across as someone that will raise topics that may discourage others if I have doubts.

3.2l is not T6, the T6 is 2.9l, so i assume you're talking about the post 07 model 3.2l 6cyl L6 and it costs around 80k for skeleton engine and 150k for complete engine.

NB: These are current prices and could change without notice

Hello Good Sir.
I have two questions.

1. Would you rather advise a first time car own (not first time driver) to go for the 2007-2008 V6 Xc90 or V8 Xc90 (with durability, power and maintenance in consideration)

2. Do you have contact of good Volvo mechanic (not kazeem grin) in Edo State/Benin City that can easily fix the car when it breaks down.

I haven't come across any Volvo workshop in Benin City. Only road side mechanics/Kazeem

Thank you.

Go for the 07/08 3.2l 6cyl XC90, and you won't be needing those Volvo workshops anytime soon

Thanks Mr. Valarinz.

1m is the best deal you might get, they're usually over 1m.

Most especially the wagons.

Don't know why you guys keep using corolla as Benchmark for good/useful cars, i only see it as the best bet you can get when you want a car for commercial purpose and still want to maintain some semblance of non-commercial owner.

Before you recover what you used to buy that corolla, the Volvo has made its purchase money twice over. Also 10yrs after the corolla must have died, the Volvo will still be on the road, making you some money.

Please leave our dear Volvo out of your corolla comparisons henceforth, we don't like insult biko. You can go to the Honda guys and keep jousting with them.

Cheers cool

Hi car gurus in the house, a friend of mine wanted to buy a used volvo v40 wagon, who has used this car brand before, I need review on what should be wary of, Infact I will be the one to pick the ride up from delta state,
Re: Thread For Volvo Car Owners/lovers by amalab30(m): 9:20am On Aug 11, 2020
Hi. I currently use this car, 2000 model. Bought from Cotonou in 2015. I use the T4 (Turbo) version.

Car is okay and very strong. I have not had to change my shocks since I got it. Electricals of this car is superb. Reason I mentioned shocks is because I live within an area that has very bad road and it's still very sharp.

It's a low maintenance car and parts are available. If we can't get the parts in Abuja, my mech orders them from Lagos.

I'd need you to pay rapt attention to the car and give it your attention and you'd be glad you got it.

Have a great buy.

Again, you're in a safe place and Valarinz will most definitely guide you through. Cheers

How do I add a new key for a 2007 xc90?

Used to be able to do that on my Peugeot (get a blank key fob & add using diagbox) but I can't even easily find the blank keyfobs for the Volvo online.
