How I Recovered My Phone From The Lion's Den!!!

Yesterday, at Computer Village (Ikeja), should have been the last day I would have seen and handled the phone I bought barely eight months ago, if the plans of the enemy had been successful.

I was there to repair a laptop for someone and on my way out, very close to the under-bridge, a guy just approached me and the next thing I noticed was that he tactfully embraced me. I was virtually transfixed by his action, just wondering what was happening. I looked at his face and he seemed to me like I knew him from somewhere. Someone by the side, who I suspect to be one of them quickly said, "leave am, e don drink."

The guy then left, but thank God he didn't go too far from me. My mind immediately flashed back to the story of someone I knew who lost his phone in a similar manner about two years ago. I had to do a quick check on my phone. Behold, it was no more. The guy had secretly removed it from my pocket during the short period of his dramatic display. I had to turn, as if to move towards him. At that point, he also realised that I had understood what just happened. So, he turned back and carefully handed over the phone to me. After I collected it, I just stood wondering, not knowing what to do. Some thoughts were just going through my mind: "what just happened," "did this just happen or is this just a dream?" "What if he had succeeded?" While still somehow lost in thoughts, one of those standing there was like 'you better dey go.' With that, I had to find my way out of there. That was how I eventually recovered my phone from the bad guys at Computer Village.

Should I have shouted so as to draw people's attention? Should I have just wired the guy a permanently dirty slap? Well, these were the thoughts I later considered. But in all, I thank God who miraculously intervened and frustrated the plans of the wicked.

Some of these things happen so fast that one hardly have time to even think properly. One's mind would be totally oblivious of what's happening until the deed is eventually finished. This encounter happened in broad daylight, around some minutes before 3pm. Some people were there, just standing and watching. If the guy had succeeded in escaping with my phone, they wouldn't have said or done anything.

Last last, it is just everyman for himself in this terrible times. Let's just pray that one would not find himself helpless in the midst of helpers. There is no love in the city.

Thank God I have my phone back and it is with it I just typed this post. All glory to the Most High God!!!
