Nigeria is never ever ready or prepared for anything. Our unreadiness & unpreparedness brought covid19.

But why did worst hit Europe and Asia open up their airspace
Because they reached the peak of infection and the rate is now going down unlike Nigeria where are yet to attain peak of infection.

But sir, how would we know if Nigeria has peaked or not, when we don't have sufficient testing capabilities. We could have peaked and we won't even know, because this social distancing, face mask bla bla bla in many places weren't fully observed...!!!!

There are health professionals that appraise the trend 9f the infection. It is however yet obvious that we haven't peaked, hence the high figures recorded daily of positive testes.
Truth is we are undertesting because we test only the symptomatic people and number of asymptotic are usually much higher than those than show symptoms. I believe the true figure of positive cases in Nigeria is more than 100 thousand.

Sincerely I agree with you, especially the last part "100 thousand" but as a health professional myself, I can say we might have peaked without knowing for the following reasons
1) The only way we can know if cases are rising, peaking or declining is by testing which will give you an assessment of those with the diseases at a point in time. If you don't have capacity to sufficiently test you won't be able to compare data to know your true status. Let me give you an instance. If our testing capacity as at April was 10 million tests per month (we would see as much as 100 thousand cases) but if by June it reduces to 10 thousand test per month (we would see about 1 thousand cases or at most 10 thousand cases). To a layman it would seem as if the case had dropped or we peaked at April but to learned people like the both of us we would know its false, because its all based on testing capacity.
2) Another way to know if we have peaked or not, is through mortality rate (death rate). Unfortunately that can't work for us either, because most deaths in Nigeria are under recorded especially in the North and the mortality rate for COVID 19 in Africa, is very low for any reasonable correlation to be made. For example in Italy, even without adequate testing they can know if they have peaked or not using the death rate observed in that country.
3) Taking into consideration that many Nigerians did not observe many of these safety precautions especially in the North it is possible that maximum community transmission may have been ongoing all through this period , for example a place like Sokoto where I reside, throughout this lockdown period life was almost normal with people coming in and going out, no face mask or social distancing etc, so I stand to say that we could have peaked without knowing. But as usual I stand to be corrected..!!!!

This too shall pass, it might be slow but it's a work in progress. You need something done fast from the comfort of your home, this is where GTBank *737# USSD code comes into play.

You can make transactions, place bets, open an account, check statement of account and many more.
