Don't you guys think we need to start doing something about resuming everything has died down and the virus doesn't even seem like a treat again. Market has open, curfew is no more holding anywhere, church self have open Even politics is going on right now in ondo state so why do we have to wait for long before education comes back. Children's can't keep going to expensive private lessons The schools have to resume if the government wouldn't hear word we are the one that will spell it into there ears It was not even this hard during Ebola period 1 Like |

mmars:You're just capping. Virus is not a threat? In this naija we're not doing up to 5000 tests daily yet we're recording 250+ cases daily. Churches are opening with sense and rules. How do you expect schools to carry out social distancing and control the kids to ensure they don't come in unnecessary contact with each other and then take the virus home to their more vulnerable students (I know you'll want to suggest do this or that, but be realistic o cos this is Nigeria and we know those ideas won't be implemented the way you're thinking of them) In our public primary school with 150+ students in one small class. Even private schools with 15 to 20 students in a class still can't boast of enough space to give the students and pupils a minimum distance of 1.5 metres from each other. Don't even talk about universities where 30% of the class has to stand and some just hang around outside the classroom and peep through the windows cos there's not enough seats and space to accommodate everyone offering the course inside the classroom. We students and aspiring students are all tired of staying at home like this but we also have to be smart about how we go about going back to school. Even countries where things work are struggling to contain the virus and are not opening their schools. Those that tried recorded further increase in infection rate and shut them down again. Let's be wise about it and not just jump in cos were tired of home. A lot of us are not even tired cos they're away from school, but rather because they don't want to be controlled by their parents anymore, no more smoking weed, no more partying and sex and drugs. |
