SmartProf:
It's a perception held by so many accross Nigeria and not particularly the south east. Such perception which personally I don't subscribe to is fueled by the fact that there is little or no transparency on how donated funds have been spent so far, and there has been little satisfaction from the public on why those acclaimed to be positive are hardly given expert clinical management or treatment on arrival at the isolation centres and yet they recover. Infact some of them openly protest against being neglected without proper care. There is also the notion about figures being inflated by the government to decieve donor agencies, and many persons don't understand why u should lock them down totally when u aren't providing any palliatives nor stipends for their survival thereby predisposing them loosing their means of livelihood. To make matters worse, politicians are holding rallies and moving about, some without adherence to covid 19 guidelines. In all we know that the severity of Covid 19 in our country seems less compared to other parts of the world, but over the years Nigerians have lost trust in their government and that's why they don't trust whatever you churn out

Finally a reasonable response.

Hypocrites exhibiting their hypocrisy all over the comments....replace south there with north and see how stupid people will be saying Aboki this and aboki that, saying all sort of rubbish about north bringing the country downward....
But you won't find northerners engaging in topics like this.... Later they will claim northerners are bigots, lack tolerance but now i get it...

Dr Sani Aliyu from Kastina reporting about South East.

Aboki can not do without talking about East.

You want them to believe it by fire force so that u will lock them down.
Here in Abuja big transport companies moving to southeast/south south like Peace motors, GiGM, GUO, Edegbe Line etc are not working because of d inter state ban imposed by FG cos if they ever transport people FG will close down d company.
This is d major reason why transport fee to East nd South is very high now cos only private drivers secretly do so
But go to Mohammed International Market Mararaba nd see all transport companies moving to north in full action. They are transporting people as if there is no inter state ban.
Go there u will see Gombe line, Yankari transport, Yobe Lines, Borno Express, Gombawa, BLuewhale etc in full action.

Same country, different law
You are right

They are not seeing proof of covid19 cases. Is coronavirus the only disease in Nigeria that is killing people? Why is there so much emphasis on coronavirus if this people who are in charge of the disease are not making money from it?

It is not foolishness. it is not a must to wear mask. Mask doesn't stop the spread of covid-19. It might help to limit.

Improper use of mask is even more dangerous than not wearing a mask at all. If I'm in government, I will ban the use of face mask in Nigeria

Your claims aren't True... Getting a commercial vehicle to Kaduna or any other northern states from Abuja is highly impossible, except you use private vehicles and mostly they are force personnel.

To convince South East that there is Covid 19, send hundreds of trucks carrying palliative food and other items like you did in Lagos, Kano, Katsina and co. Share 20k palliative money like u did in most parts of the North. That is the meaning of covid 19 in Igbo language.

What about the south, even in the north do you think they believe that Covid is real. I leave in Abuja imagine an alhahi telling you that facemask is meant for cow not for him. I have interacted with many people and found out that they still don't believe the virus is real, they feel is a scam. So lets leave the SE alone. The SE are not like other states Tha cry louder than the bereave. That they are not shouting and making noise does not mean they are ignorant of the situation. They rather looking for solution rather than talking too much on air and social media which is what our kangaroo government are doing making noise on air and social media, speaking doom on the nation instead of looking for a solution to the pandemic ravaging the whole world. Lets not look for who to blame. If our government took action by not allowing their families abroad to come back we will not be in this mess right now lets just forget the past and look for solution, because the deed has already been done. Those that gave ear let them hear what their inner heart and spirit is telling us. Have a blissful day

The PTF called on citizens to challenge those who appear in public places without their face masks.
How do you challenge them and maintain social distance? A typical Lagos area boy will just draw down your mask and sneeze into your face undecided

No mind them. The fg is warning them now, they're forming James bond, when the whole thing blow beyond proportion now, they'll start shouting marginalisation and their usual victims game blames. Many people in abia now have lost sense of taste and smell same as enugu. Ikepazu is still recuperating. Na careless fly dey follows dead body enter grave.
They believe nothing is working in Nigeria yet keep migrating to other parts of d country everyday. undecided

Well its only company vehicles that are not operating but some cars like Siena do operate. Our gate man travel to Kaduna and came back during that lockdown period and my aunts driver travelled to Jos last week and came back. So its not truly impossible but the only thing is that big transport company are not operating but they only move goods.
