biggal:it can thrive in any part of the south-south region(no be swamp oh) i am in akwa ibom. but you need to get suitable seeds that can suit our weather condition and get training from a practising farmer in ur area for training cos of the unique problems that come with vegetables 1 Like |

Re: My Tomato/pepper Experimental Garden by Following(m): 12:26pm On Nov 29, 2016 |
shadowid:are 6 weeks already flowering. M using some homemade organic recipes for now though, but how much is z-force or any small sized fungicides you know in uyo. Spending 3500 for neem oil does for just over 300 plants does not sound encouraging |

firstly dear brother next time u go for certified hybrid seeds that are meant for our whether that can be desease resistant... but however 3 things may have caused the wilting of your crop... first is less watering at least 3. times in a week...however I would advice next time u try using sack method since u are not farming in hecters or acres... secondly ur crops may be suffering from fungi... not may be... fungi wilt finished them cos u seem to have over fed them with pesticides which was not to nessesary... 3rdly remove the plants from the roots and check if the stems going towards the roots are black then know its bacteria... if it is pls remove them off cos they could infect others there... but u should learn more on treating ur farm... God bless ur struggle... tomato does well in the south south... watermelon does well also and cucumba does great... I would be holding a seminar at oweri and aba on 16/12/2016 and 17/12/2016 respectively on this vegebles most especially watermelon and cucumber... u can subscribe for the seminar to help reduce all this loss of money and crop. whatsapp or call me at... 08068018201 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: My Tomato/pepper Experimental Garden by Following(m): 5:04am On Nov 30, 2016 |
good morning sir, when the affected plant is removed from the soil, the stem close to the soil is soft and when i divide the stems into 2, i most times see a hole like that of stem borer, but no insect inside and no hole that leads outside. this occured even b4 i applied the pesticide since neem oil was too expensive. the wilting starts from noticing that all leaves in one direction starts wilting then drying up quickly, while the other leaves of the same stem are still fresh. i quickly wanted to go for bacterial wilt but the holes in the stem makes it difficult. oga pamdaniel i think maybe you should make the advert for the UYO WATERMELON version NOW so that a lot can see it now and start planning. thanks for your help, hoping for more to solve this challenge |
Re: My Tomato/pepper Experimental Garden by Following(m): 5:31am On Nov 30, 2016 |
i prefer to get attacks from all sort of pest and disease available now and during the rainy season than for me to escape them now only for them to rear their head when i must have committed funds and time to it. maybe if i had done fumigation b4 transplanting, it may not have happened. MY TOMATO GARDEN IS DOING WELL EXCEPT FOR THE RANDOM ATTACKS BY ONLY GOD KNOWS. pepper is a lot easier to mangage as 0 pest and disease has been recorded so far
