I commented on a thread you open regarding this Land dispute in the past. Honestly, I was thinking this particular Land litigation has been put to rest and the case settled. May the facts before the Apex court be in your favour.

For me, I concluded my schooling (Caritas Private University) and service when i was 22 years. I stayed with my widowed mother till i became 24. That 2 years was full time war because I battled within myself over my non- educated friends that are mostly into tanker and Container motor drivers flourishing while me that much is expected from had nothing but "thank you" whenever i finish eating my mums food ( not jealousy

Mid of my 24 years, i moved in to stay with my sister in Enugu. Away from home, i was more free to engage my self no matter how humiliating the work look.

I started with Teaching. I was paid 15k per month, after 5 or 6 months of saving, i rented my own apartment, Used the remaining money to buy rice, tomato paste and beans in large quantities. I made good savings before the year ran out.

The next year, i opened a phone charging place and employed a girl while I was still teaching . Money started flowing in small small. I had about 300k few months later so, I opened Firstmonie outlet.

I started massive saving. I was targeting to open an iron company where i will sell building materials last 2 years, but the required capital is too much so, I went into rice.

I am Thankful to God for where i am today.

You can still make it if you don't have a job. Just start as small as possible.

Move away from home and squat with your sibling or good friend if you are too ashamed or not free to engage yourself.
Hello bro. Can u give me tips on the phone charging business? Thanks

Guessing this thread is already dead.

Started forex immediately after grad.. although I've been into it unofficially years and year back in school and even before I entered school

Fast forward to after grad, started by trading for other people because I sure as hell didnt have capital... made my first 3 million the first month of trading for a very very wealth person. We actually shared the profits 50:50.

I currently trade for myself and for others, such as rich individuals, organisations and companies, even school... you would be surprised.

You would be surprised how much I rake up in just one month..

Lastly though... God is the key.. nothing without Him.. nothing at all
Jesus

I can learn one or two things from you bro

Help a brother cry

These sport bet companies are devil's, they are the one who actually control the football and sport industry.

How can a team who is number one in the Turkish league be winning the bottomest team in the league for over 90mins and at the 95th minute the lower team equalises.

Ade3131:
My story plenty ooo... I pray I'm able to summarize with apt and dish out the meat at the end.

I've never been unemployed all my life. All thanks to my upbringing. I started making money as a teenager. Sold pure water and gala at different times while I was in my secondary school and I still managed to be an exceptional student in class. While waiting for admission, I ventured into repairs and sales of micro gadgets like MP3, MP4, CD Walkman player, DVD palmtop media player and so on.

Life was sweet back then. I made so much money but I was never satisfied bcuz I felt pressured to further my education just bcuz of those secondary school hype of "the boy is brilliant and the boy is good"....trust you know that kain thin.

After 2 different post UME heartbreaks, I finally settled for a polytechnic (never have I considered stepping down to a polytechnic level if not, would have been in HND1 by the time I was entering ND1). Again, I graduated well with distinction and that reassurance of my academic prowess came back.... I'm brilliant nau. While searching for a place to intern for my Industrial training, I got a 50k job offer in 2012 but I declined with my shoulder high that I'm better than that ...even as an ND holder ooo...lol

Fast forward to 2017, I quit a job that brought me so much respect and satisfaction due to my ego again... This time, I had graduated from a private University where I paid through my teeth to complete and with my reassuring self, I'd thought I was going to get another job during or after my NYSC. Luck almost shone on me during my youth service but village people at it... I lost the opportunity to a sadist after getting positive recommendation from my country director.

After my near miss at securing another job, I ventured into poultry with a substantial amount of my savings. I targeted easter period and reared boiler chickens only to receive the greatest shock of my life when market realities hits me hard. It was a year to forget as I lost close to 60% of my investment. This got me desperately in need of funds and that desperation led me to the nightmare of my life - I finally accept a 50k job after spending a million plus in a private uni to acquire BSc....mind you, I graduated well there too.

CoronaVirus came and the company (insurance) couldn't meet up with their obligations due to the effect of the pandemic on the economy. As type this, my last salary is still being owed since I was relieved of my appointment on May 18.

After all the merry-go-round of my life, I'm back at Alaba international market where it all started for me. I'm learning how to fix laptop computer (upped my game from the media players) at age 30.

All my friends and mates who were envious of my academic superiority and my exploits in the corporate world didn't know that they were allot better off being a boss of their own...all married and doing well. Mind you, even those who have the best of careers in corporate service still fall back to entrepreneurship at the end of their years of active service. So why not start early (now) and gain ground before they come back to the street and rule over you?

I
I like your story. Similar to what I am going through.

I got a job 2 weeks before my Passing out Parade. The job was cool, a sales job, not a technical one.

Made so much money but my ego came in and affected my dealings with management till I got fired. I tried business and failed, but the thought of going back to the corporate world scares me. Because at this stage I really don't know what I am gunning for in a company.

I've been thinking of changing environment, and start a basic business where no one knows me.....

I have a plot of land to sell in a choice area but people are advising me not 5o sell now..... But I have less than 100k on me.

Hello.

Do you know what is mandatory course?
tunjijones:
My story.

Finished from secondary sch at 16 with high hopes and good grade. My first real challenge was jamb. Did jamb 4 time bfor i finally made it to one of the federal universities. I spent like 6 years in the uni cos of strike and stuff and my course was a five years course. I went to one of those universities where lecturer are happy when student fail. I have had a lecturer that says you will all fail in Jesus name. I wonder the mentality. They brag among themselves how they made lot of student fail. I finished from the useless school (I still feel it was a waste of my time). To make it worse i graduated with a third class. I felt all was hope was lost. People will told me even me that had 2.1 i never see work shey na you wan come see work.

I accepted my faith. Am i promised myself that am not a failure. Started looking for job. Was at home for 19 months without job and frustrated with little or no financial assistant from any one.

Luck smiled on me. I got my first job of =N=49k. I saved almost everything because i wanted to do pro courses. I did and i passed with very good grades.
I did my PGD and in open uni and i have done my masters also.

Now am doing quite well, i have far exceeded where i tot i wld be in just 7 years. I got a very good job with the pro courses (In IT) i did.

So my point is that you should never limit yourself because that that grade you come out with in sch. You can still be great if you remain focus and if luck smile on you. Do pro courses (Though it is expensive but its worth it), dont give up, you too can make it even if you come out with a PASS or Third class.

Are you still into this shoemaking?

Is it profitable?

Goodafternoon.
keeper1:
I haven't made it so far, but I know I am getting there.

I entered University in year 2014 to study an engineering course. I was working at a bakery then as side hustle to finance my education together with help from family.

in the year 2015 when we had our first semester break which usually lasts for just 2 weeks there about, I used to that period to learn the art of shoemaking. so to say, I spent just 2 weeks there ( thanks to my boss who taught me the basis)

Fast forward to 2019, August to be precise, I told my babe(a nairalander too) jokingly that I once learnt shoe making a few years back but she didn't believe; To make her believe, she dropped ₦500 and we went to the market to get some materials and I made a female pam slippers for her( it wasn't that nice but she appreciated it). Since then, we've been practising on different designs and we were getting better as the days go by.

Fast forward to February 1st to be precise, we're serving in Oyo State and we launched our small firm. We started making pams and sandals for our fellow corp members; I working essentially on the male part and she on the female. With time, we're making our name and extended our services to other people.in different strata of life.

Fast forward to yesterday, June 10, we tried our hands on simple female bag making and we realised it came out good, and we joined it with the pams and sandals we're doing.

We're not there yet but I know we're getting there.

I'm just using this medium to implore our youth to explore the handcraft aspect of the economy no matter how dirty/small/low-income it seems to be. Being your own boss can is second to none no matter the meagre amount you think you're earning.

make una pardon my incoherent use of words, I hope I passed my message.

You quoting me on an old and dead thread brings me some nostalgic memories. By the way, I've long moved on from collecting this ridiculous rate. grin

First of all, writing is broad! There's content writing, copywriting, script writing, technical writing, grant writing, newsletter writing etc. You have to develop expertise in one or more writing domains before you can talk of applying for writing jobs, especially in this age where AI can write on just anything.

Secondly, you'll need to have or create a portfolio featuring some work samples you can include when applying for jobs. That's how clients will assess you and know if you are experienced or not for the job.

Thirdly, getting writing jobs, especially good-paying ones, will require a lot of work on your part. The competition to land jobs, either through freelancing platforms or job boards, is now very high. You'll have to keep applying for many writing jobs, getting rejections emails, and constantly upgrading your skills and updating your CV.

Lastly, if you think your writing skills are good enough, find the writing niche(s) you're comfortable with and develop expertise in it. Research and write a few articles to use as work samples, include them in your CV, and maybe start applying to writing jobs in the niche you choose.

I think I have said a lot already.

But what platform can i be putting my portfolio and CV for people to see?
Is it Facebook?

By the way, i write about relationship and family(how parents can raise their children).
