the answer is 20 half of item one=5 item two=5 half of item three=2 item 1 + item 2 × item 3 so.....5+5×2=20

man+ 2 shoes +2 cone =5 +10+4=19

Let me teach you how to edit and solve

supposing a question say:

5 + 19 x 2
You edit it like this: 5 + (19 x 2)

Using bodmas: bracket which is (19 x 2) = 38

order, division , multiplication, addition 5 + 38, then subtraction.

Let say again: solve 6 x 3 + 8 - 5 x 3/2 - 8
The first thing is to Edith it. Edition is allabout the multiplication sign and the order.

do it this way : (6 x 3) + 8 - (5 x 3/2) - 8

18 + 8 - 15/2 - 8
You now use Bodmas: addition first ( remember we focus on what follows the sign)
18 + 8 = 26
- (15/2 - 8 ) = - 1/2
now 26 - (- 1/2) = 26 + 1/2 = 53/2

Suppose let's say : 2² x 8 + 5 - 3

Edith first: (2² x 8 ) + 5 - 3

using Bodmas, Bracket, order, div, mul,add,sub

(2² x 8 ) = (4 x 8 ) = 32

32 + 5 - 3, next is addition and 5 has the addition sign +5, pick the number before it

(32 + 5) - 3, using bodmas, bracket first
37 - 3 = 34

Hope you now see how Bodmas is used.


Some people solve it wrongly. This is what dey do

let's say 2 + 5 x 8

2 + 5 = 7

7 x 8 = 56

But the right way is : 2 + (5 x 8 )
using bodmas, bracket first (5 x 8 ) = 40

2 + 40 = 42.
The rules of editing must be obeyed especially when you see a multiplication sign/signs.

So people getting 48 didn't follow that rule, and also those who didn't observe the diagram also...
