No subvention?

ETF gives ALL universities money for infrastructure. Including private ones
Aboki, money for infrastructure isn't subvention.

E don start
It has started oh! My organization that receives subvention from the government is about to deny us our May salary. The last salary I received was in April. See how people are treated in their own country.

I thought academic staff members were on the safer part but i was wrong. I just got the sack letter in my mail yesterday & it was like a dream..... But now I'm awake to the reality & will ride on the wings of the little investment I made until I find somewhere within or outside the shore of the country to pitch my tent. Life goes on
Wow. Are you one of the affected Bowen staff members?

To what purpose?
To protect workers from getting fired without hope of rehiring them.

E never start. You think say na moimoi to lockdown every where like this? The effect will be catastrophic. Some of the kids that are ranting that FG should lockdown indefinitely may soon be hit when their breadwinners lost their sources of income

Can you imagine that European countries are opening up every where so soon despite the number of their casualties.

If you like no open up, all of us are in it together.
no mind them especially that fellow called confirmedzombie on the new covid cases thread always shouting that the economy and country should be locked down for 2 months.

Re: Bowen University Sacks 100 Workers by Oluf3mi(m): 2:27pm On Jun 25, 2020
This is very sad, but lets face the truth, more people will lose their job. Not only because of the virus, nah...that is just by the way. The world is moving towards full time robotics. A.I will soon take over. Just that our own Nigeria is slow at embracing it...but it is on the rise. Dnt we have machines that accepts money now? Who need a bank full of Tellers then? And thats just one out of many industries. Its truly sad like I said...seems we all need to pick some thing up in the world of technology if we still want to remain relevant. It is well.

According to the source, the situation is currently generating anxiety, as some staffers were threatening to protest the action.
“How can the university-owned by a church just woke up and lay off such number of staff at this time? Even the government at all levels are struggling to keep their staff and pay them.

But with this A.I coming in the future humans may just be heading for extinction cos if robot take care of medical, lecturing, transport, Admin, Military and so on then human becomes useless cos no need to employ humans when you can buy a robot to perform all functions, then human may have to go to war with A.I in the future in other to survive

Omobadan,
Mo moh, I said 'for infrastructure', meaning money you were supposed to use for development can now be saved for long term overhead payments.

It's not rocket science

This COVID had done more harm than good
maybe covid was just an easy umbrella to hide under
Either ways this has been brewing all along
Private institutions across all sector needs to be thoroughly monitored by agencies to avoid undue and harsh decision.

May we not loose our livelihood
