demzey:No NCDC isnt doing trial and error, since Crossrivers state insists it doesn't have Corona virus, NCDC decided to let them enjoy their covid-19 free status. Shay the mumu health workers were playing along? Why are they now discovering covid 19 patients? Let them not even control movement in and out of their hospitals, na cough go kill them. Nonsense people! |

Cross River state government should be applauded because his recommendations has worked. Apart from this patient nobody has died in cross River of the virus. And we cannot say that since then people who probably may have COVID 19 have not entered the state. If it was possible for him the lock the state with a key we wouldn't have COVID 19 there so he should be applauded than criticised. It is not possible that people have not entered that place from then till now |

As a pharmacist working in Calabar . I am dismayed by the attitude of the state government. With the recent complaints from people having "new strain of malaria" it shows we are playing politics with the whole pandemic. I have attended to over 50 of these cases and most of my patients enquire to know more. But I have nothing to say! . All we are asking is for the state government to foster testing and stop all these media stupidity. They have nothing to lose being labelled a covid 19 state and they have a lot to lose pretending the state is covid 19 free |

UCTH is under the federal Ministry of health. The working Minister for health has been rooting out Corona virus cases everywhere,if possible,in Sahara Dessert. So,UCTH bows to pressure. But,how come the teaching hospital had to wait till the patient was discharged before the public was told there was a confirmed case? Another question:How come the patients got well within one week,as is unobtainable since the emergence of covid-19. Meanwhile, the Cross River State government has refused to confirm the case. Something like this happened in Akwa Ibom and Kogi states There's something not clear at all. This is the very reason over 70% of Nigerians do not believe in the Corona virus matter. It is well |

Rondigee:No it's simply no testing, no cases. Kogi is doing the same thing . If states were able to seal their borders airtight maybe we would have gone far in tackling this thing. |

Callmemike:So treating covid is as simple as extraction and mass production of antibodies . It's that simple and the world is still stuck in this mess? . He said PCR is used for genomic yada yada and DNA sequencing, if you sequence the DNA or RNA rather of the virus then doesn't that mean it was present in the sample taken . Well he did bring up how useful masks can be so I'll give him that. |

Light78:Sudden loss of smell and taste IS a symptom of upper respiratory viral infection, of which Sars-Cov-2 is a current spreading strain. There have been confirmed studies supporting it from several countries. Most of the people complaining of sudden anosmia have never experienced it in their Life earlier. I'm talking of total loss.... I put my nose on a gallon full of fuel and smelled NOTHING. It was like water. Over a week later, the senses returned. |

Callmemike:let's take the PCR machine. He said it's not reliable and it's not for diagnostic purpose but for research. He totally goofed. PCR has almost 100% specificity and almost 100% sensitivity. This means it's able to detect every sample that is affected as positive and able to exclude every sample that is not affected as negative. This is because it works on identifying the correct genomic sequence of the virus in the sample. So it is highly reliable and used as a confirmatory test. It's the technology applied in paternity test. It's the confirmatory test for HIV where doubt exists. So it's almost 100%reliable. Rapid diagnostic test is not. Read up PCR and you will see it's mainly used for diagnosis more than research. I don't even want to venture into the nonsense he said about serum and vaccine. It was a shame. |

it's a purported plan by the federal government to ensure they drag my dear Cross River State into covid-19 mess. But, God won't allow it! is just a mere propaganda, disregard such please |

Decibel:And I hope that you know that Crfiss river state is surrounded by 4 to 5 states that have recorded covid-19 cases of recent apart from cameroun, and there's entry and exit without any strict restrictions at the borders. This is beyond a case of sabotage but observing all necessary safety guidelines because Covid-19 is evidently in CRS. |
