Nice review, you mirrored my thoughts exactly. The ending is Nollywood for you. They'd literally spend lots of precious time building up the climax, only to resolve it in 2 minutes or less & haphazardly.
I swear. Nollywood like that thing Wella.

There was a film I watched, about 2 hours, with ending of about 5 mins. shocked fear catch me that day, I was like WTF! That film needed about 20mins to wrap up ending but Nollywood had other ideas.
I've gotten used to it, na only the one wey no end with sense at all you go complain of. grin

Alter Ego - 3.6/10

The storyline itself had soooo much potential, I thought they had some good ideas but it was executed very poorly. Pacing was rushed, they were just jumping from scene to scene with minimal explanation resulting in a very choppy and confusing flow. Too many 'big' events occurring, with no fleshed-out explanation for why and how we got there lol, throughout the movie I was like 'just like that?'

And I like Omotola but I found her acting only slightly better than terrible...too forced, how tf did she win that AMVCA award for it (lol who am I kidding, we know these things are more about politics than merit)

I'm disappointed because the plot idea itself was genuinely good lol
I guess unlike any other naija movie, u know, filled with comedy nd stuff, its a straight up movie addressing a major problem in the society, the award was as a result of this. Most ladies/parent don't know that having experience sexual violence at tender age increases ur sexual urges/need(females). There was an American version of it, forgot the title.

AMVCA gave it two awards, best writer and actress. I was referring to the former. As for the later, I can't vividly remember how she handled that script.

You said endgame threw caution to the wind?
For someone who claim to be well versed in the concept of time travel, how did the logic behind messing with time in endgame fly over your head?

Avengers Endgame has one of the most relatively plausible concept of time travel in Hollywood.
They didn't go back in time to change the present (hello, Xmen: days of the future past), they went back to retrieve the items used to disrupt their present, travel back to the present and use the items to restore the balance in their present (emphasis on this!) then travel back to the past to return the aforementioned items.

Hulk told war machine who suggested travelling back in time to kill baby Thanos that killing him won't change nothing because the present will only become their past and the future will be their present.
Meaning whatever they have to do, has to be done in the present.

Haven't seen any concept of time travel more straightforward than this and I have seen many.
grin grin

This just gives me deja vu! This reads like a Mekaprime comment. Do you know what you two have in common? The ability to write verbose crap with confidence. Your analyses can be sometimes the opposite of fact.

Avengers has the worst take on time travel. It is childish compared to most time travel movies. How can one change the past without changing the future? The butterfly effect cannot be overlooked.

Do you realise that they killed a past version of Thanos and his army at the end? Somewhere in the present lies half of the original Thanos's army (as a result of the first snap).

Cocoon (1985)

I loved this movie as a child. I re-watched it and cried. It is a simple science fiction comedy-drama about aliens and old people. There is a part 2 that I am going to watch soon. This film gives me chills. Watching this movie after playing sega mega drive.

I found it befitting as the two biggest trolls on this thread have been recommending ancient films. My greetings to the watchmen of this thread.
Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Nobody: 7:02am On Jun 29, 2020
Time travel concept is inspired by whatever the writer happen to be smoking at the moment if writing the script.

The butterfly effect exists because some other movies say it exists so if MCU says it is not binding in their universe, who are you to disagree?

Or have you seen anyone time travel before?

I don't think so. Majority of serious time travel movies base their science on Einstein's law of relativity. Some movies like Timecrimes and Donne Darko got it right.

Endgame's time travel doesn't make any sense whatsoever, but in comic book logic, it makes perfect sense.

You must be joking. Are you not aware of a thing called logic? Many scientists and philosophers have applied logic to the concept of time travel. That is how we come about temporal paradoxes and various theories on time travel.

Just because time travel is fiction, it does not mean that you should apply logic to your fictional story.
One important reason for this is because science fiction today, could be tomorrow's invention. Take for instance, self-lacing shoes that were first theorised in the movie BACK TO THE FUTURE. The self-lacing shoes used some sort of sensor and suction technology in the movie. That means that the movie used some logic in creating the fictional shoe- it did not use Cinderella magic in which the shoe laces come to life and ties themselves. Lo and behold, Nike has used similar technology to create self-lacing shoes.

The time travel in the avengers endgame is not logically consistent. How can one change the past without changing the the present or the future. The moment they retrieved the stones from the past, they made changes in the timeline.

If Captain America went back in time to spend a lifetime with agent Carter, then what happened to the timeline where captain America saw her die alone as a granny when he came back from being frozen in ice?
