It was raining heavily today and as I stepped out, saw this innocent creature under the rain. I was almost moved to tears as it struggled under the rain helplessly. I had to help it under the shade.


What is it called?

Yes. The colour of squirrels differ base on the location/sub-family. The one in your picture looks like African Bush Squirrel. I used to see the adult ones when I was in Nigeria and I noticed that the colour is slightly different from the ones here in North America.

Going by the fury tail, I strongly believe it is a baby squirrel but I could be wrong though.

Isn't that slot , and be careful about all these animals u ppl are catching kakiri . Ancestors are real biko .
Maybe it is one ancestor who turned to another thing you caught, who knows .
Release her, let her go for her meeting

I didn't hunt it down. You won't understand how I felt seeing it struggle under the heavy rain. I had to go under the rain to rescue it. I would have felt really terrible if I left it there to die

Are you going to keep it? You can browse how to take care of it, there are a lot of videos on YouTube. It will grow to be a lovely skittish fury entertainer. Squirrels are naturally adorable and home grown ones could get very attached to their owners if treated well. I spend most of my evenings watching them. Lol
