OJUKWU NEVER RELEASED AWOLOWO FROM PRISON. It never happened, stop spreading lies!

Most Nigerians keep copying and pasting craps even such junks go against their intentions. In one of your pasted craps, it reads that Gowon released Dr. M. I. Okpara. Was Okpara jailed too? Gowon had no power whatsoever to release a housefly jailed eastern region at the time of this discuss. After the war, Gowon even re-arrested coup plotters hailed in prison in eastern region starting he did not the powers to release them from jails in eastern region of Nigeria.

What has Ojukwu campaigning for Shagari in 1983 got to do with the thrust of the post and Nigerian -Biafra War of 1967-70?

Salewa95:
This is Ojuku campaigning on the podium for Shagari after sacrificing 3million of his people to the Fulani gods.

As a well devoted slave, he still went ahead to lick the ass of Shagari.

OP don’t you think talking about Ojukwu and his slavery to the North will do your people more favor than killing your self over the Yorubas?

Awo and Fulanis found a common ground during the war of attrition against the Biafrans. He was used and then discarded like a wet rag. Stop lying.

OJUKWU was insane. AWO had to find a WAY to contain him.

Imagine! Yet they will keep incriminating Tinubu for doing same. The only mistake Tinubu made was to insult OBJ.

You yorubas are always pontificating from a position of hindsight. Ademoyega and other coupists made it clear that one of their objectives was to bring awolowo (who the north didn't like) out of prison and make him prime minister. Yet you wanted Gen Ironsi to release Awo and help the coupists achieve one of their aims? And cause uprising in the north against his government?

Are you guys really this daft to think that the benefit of hindsight can now be equated to 'political intelligence' that you yorubas erroneously ascribe to yourselves?

The ONLY reason Gowon wanted him released after getting rid of Ironsi and confronting the East was to get the yorubas by their side and avoiding fighting two major ethnic groups on two different war fronts. It was simply 'PRE-WAR POLITICS'. Use your common sense Oga!

I am happy you admitted, in your piece, that 'political intelligence and PRE-WAR POLITICS, is an attribute that is not common 'in your part of this world'.
We all saw the consequences of the absence of this very critical attributes in the way you guys self destruct between 1966 and 1967.
Tell me, what stopped Ironsi from giving protection to the civilian government after the assasination of Balewa? Alhaji Zanna Bukar Dipcharima was the most senior cabinet Minister and he should have been sworn in as the Prime Minister. This did not happen because you guys have your agenda intact and we have Nwafor Orizu, remember him?, who aided Ironsi to grab power from civilians Ministers under the pretence that the Ministers voluntarily transferred power to the military after the annihilation of civilian and military leaders from other regions by Igbo soldiers.
The political intelligence that you admitted was not common 'in your part of this world', was also the reason why Ironsi's 'blodas' arrested for coup plotting, were being treated as 'celebrities' while in perpetual custody and your people assumed Northern military Officers and men who are witnesses to the royal treatment being given to the criminals, are fools who cannot read between the lines of your treachery against the NPC's government.

Very true, Yoruba Muslim politicians are visionless. now the big question is, who is next Yoruba Muslim to be used by north?

You mean the same way Ojukwu was used by the North?

You sound obtuse and have an impaired ability for comprehension, a trait common among you yorubas. Intellectual fortitude have never been your forte as a people.

You earlier claimed that Ironsi should have made awo (who was projected to be installed by the coupists as prime minister) prime minister. Was that not outright foolishness and legitimizing the action of the coupists?

When I cornered you and pointed out your congenital mental incompetence on this public forum, you started yapping about 'Dipcharima' and non-existent 'political intellingence' that have made you yorubas lose a huge chunk of your land in Kwara to Fulanis for over 200 years till date and still ensured that you lost 8 out of 11 national elections you ever voted in since the beginning of Nigeria.

You always think you are wiser than everyone until you dribble and nutmeg yourselves into a tight spot, then you start screaming for 'southern unity' calling for help for others (whom you love to insult) to come and save you from the consequences of your crass stupidity. grin
You'll keep learning the hard way. grin

Ogbeni Ojukwu is a liar. He lied he released Awolowo to tarnish the late sage image.

Below is the official gazette where Gowon released Awolowo and other leaders in prison on August 2, 1966.

You accused members of other ethnic groups, of having an 'impartial ability for comprehension', but you ended up displaying the same trait, albeit, on a dubious scale with your assertion that I suggested that Gen. Ironside should have made Chief Awolowo Prime Minister in his ill-fated government. I challenged you to go through my post again, but this time around, read the piece gently with your cerebrum faculties fully switched on and point out where I made such assertions.
Your low level knowledge of contemporary Nigeria history was laid bare in the open with your reaction to the name of Alhaji Zanna Bukar Dipcharima. If you have to be honest with yourself, you will admit that you have never heard or seen the name elsewhere before my piece.

I am still waiting for your response to the reason why Gen. Ironside usurped powers from civilian Ministers after the assassination of Sir Tafawa Balewa, by Igbo soldiers after he, Ironsi, made claims that he had taken control of the crises occasioned by the mutiny of Igbo soldiers.

The consequences of Gen. Ironsi's action or inactions are as follows; there wouldn't have been any reason for Gen. Ironsi galavanting all over the country in search of an elusive peace, that led to his death, if he had done the right thing of showing allegiance to the Nigeria Nation instead of 'Biafraudland'.
Also, there wouldn't have been a reason for the Hausa-Fulani July 'Rematch', by Northern Nigeria soldiers, if the right decision had been taken by Gen. Ironside.
The 3 million plus Igbo lives lost to the Nigerian civil war would also have been averted had Gen. Ironsi and other Igbo political and military leaders had the foresight and cognitive intuition to see through their actions then.
I am not surprised you guys were unable to see beyond your noses then, because you admitted, in your earlier piece, that 'Political intelligence' and 'Pre-War Politics' are attributes you guys are not naturally endowed with.
And last, but not least, Nigeria would not have been pracising a loopsided Unitary form of government foisted on the country by Gen. Aguiyi ironsi and his greedy 'blodas' from 'Biafra' land when they 'hijacked' government in 1966.
