Hello Neeta02, I guess they found something inappropriate about the details your sister submitted years back, probably a background check was done and the following might have been the cause:

1. The names on the documents she submitted as her father name does not match with name she’s trying to petition.

2. The date of birth might be the Issue as well, probably she reduce her age in the course of traveling or the father date of birth does not match, hence, a significant or insignificant age gap.

The list can go on and on, the main point is, they found something inappropriate with the documents she submitted which make them doubts her.

And the only solution is to opt for a DNA test ( the concrete proof they need). I know it’s expensive and time consuming but this is what your sister need to convince them. It will shut them up once it’s done.

Good day house. I dunno if I’m in the right thread. My sis who’s a US citizen filed petition for my dad last year, around the later part of the year. She got a mail some days back that they need concrete evidence to show that my dad is really her father, they said the birth certificate she submitted from census( dunno if that’s correct) was obtained when she was 28years, so they want a more concrete proof that she’s his daughter. Please what do you suggest we do? My dad is here in Nigeria, though he has visited US before.

It is odd that they are asking for further proof at the petition stage. It may be helpful to just send pics of both your dad and sister from a young age to adulthood and see where that goes. I mean are they going to accept DNA results from any random place?

Usually DNA evidence would come in at the interview stage where the embassy should give details on how to do it right?

Please I need help here.... I was asked by USCIS to submit my NPC birth certificate(request for evidence) and have submitted the said document last month.
This month I got another letter of re- request of evidence with this form attached. Is it that the attestation of birth I sent is not clear or what?

Good morning y'all fellow NVC stage members, my name is Jay, thank you so much for all the updates it's really helped me a lot to know what to do and each stage. Please i kindly want to as if i would be needing another Police character certificate by the time i got for the interview because the one i submitted was issued to me on the 19th of February and i submitted my the whole documents and it was accepted on 20th Feb, so with this information about one has to present police character certificate three (3) months before interview. Please do i need to do another one. Thanks as i wait for responds.

Please, for those that had done their medicals prior to the shut down of activities by the embassies due to the COVID spread, would they have to do another medicals?

They are conducting interviews - mostly emergency and expedited interviews.
DHS had already said consulates can go ahead to interview those not affected by EOs so those type of interviews and emergency travel interviews ( medical or those who need to accompany others with valid US passports and need or choose to evacuate)

Bare in mind these are interviews that they would schedule and contact you or in the case of those accompanying US citizens you would have to fill their form with your details.

@Omowaleola, let me suggest that since your status reads ISSUED on CEAC then you better visit DHL asap for collection and make your travel plans asap before the visa expires

You're restricted to 6 months from the date of issue of the visa to travel to the nearest POE barring which you would be required to pay for reissuance of your visa and possibly do another medicals.
