Ip Man (2008) 8/10
From living in abundance to abject want and poverty. This life.
The movie took me on an emotional rollercoaster.
A lesson to us all; it takes just one bad decision or force majeure for things to turn south.
I connected so much with this man, his dignity and self-respect in the face of overwhelming circumstances.
What a man!
Feel free to drop a tear or two.

PS:
I left home at 18.
Independent, lived the life, traveled the West African coast, hobnobbed with the high and mighty.

By 28,
I was broke, broken, and back home living with my mum.

Life is fickle. Make the best of it.

A celebration of Chinese culture.
A deliberate and conscious construct to sell the good side of their culture.
Kudos to the makers.

And Samo Hung! My childhood hero.
Like fine wine, you have aged well.
Thanks for all the joy you gave me while growing up.

So when will Nigeria start a deliberate agenda to promote NAIJA through movies?
The National Orientation Agency I wonder what goes on in there!
We need to counter the "Hushpuppiec" narrative about us.
The "Nigerian Prince" scam impression about us also needs to be washed.

The government should budget to sponsor blockbusters that scream "Good People, Great Nation" through Nollywood and even Hollywood! undecided

We do not need to re-invent the wheel.
America has done it.
The Indians did it.
The Chinese are now doing it with a degree of success.

It is well with us.

lol....I can relate.

in my 20s, my babe was laughing at me when I couldnt put on generator in her apartment. She went to buy food and came back to meet me in darkness. This is the normal petrol generator that uses either key or rope to start.

Hotel mumbai(2019)- 8.5/10
A gripping story of Humanity, Heroism and terror.
Based on real life events that occurred in 2008.
Tense, and equally moving.
Kudos to the director for bringing a true life event to the screen..
A very well made thriller.

Mtchew..... Shey Naija dey take initiative. undecided angry

I don wonder about that thing tire sef so they I don give up.
Under GEJ Administration I still saw some effort even though miniscule from the NOA to promote Naija. I saw adverts with beautiful places in Nigeria and a message. The main focus was through Tourism back then.

But under BUBU mbanu!! They are Dead.

I'm even hearing the Oronsaye Report which has been signed for implementation by BUbu is going to scrap and merge many non performing/duplicate MDA's. Maybe NOA is among. grin

Joker 2019

7 / 10

Finally decided to see this today, has been on my phone for ages..now I can delete it in peace.. Very long and tedious movie, plenty patience is needed to really see this movie... Overall a pretty good movie... Basically Thomas Wayne was an asś, Joker was the good guy, and apparently Joker and Batman are related undecided

Decent movie, I wouldn't watch it again tho... One of those One time watch and forget all about it movies... Oh and Joaquin Phoenixʼs performance was great, was worth all the hype... Heath Ledger is still the best tho

Focus
Once upon a time in Hollywood
Bombshell
Bird of Prey
Suicide Squad (a little manageable thanks to the other cast members)
Wolf of Wall Street

She can't portray emotions to save her life.
Everything just bland and tasteless.
Only has her pretty face and husband's Hollywood connections going for her

I really think she can act, she was the saving grace of suicide squad if you ask me and in bombshell i think she gave a very good account of herself

Nah, I think that's YOUR opinion. undecided

She played the character well for Bombshell, she's the BEST thing outta Suicide Squad, Played Harley in Birds of Prey the way everyone expects of the character. In Mary Queen of Scots she gave good account of her prowess.

You'll just say you don't like her and/or her face. Simple. LMAO on your opinion: She can't portray emotions. Really, you sure say no be back of TV you dey watch. grin
You can say she haven't portrayed a very wide variety of emotions, I'll agree. But saying she can't ACT, thats a No no for me. Cos she's got talent. Only thing remaining is hard work and zeal.
Academy Award nomination no be BEANS. Getting that nod means what you saying just can't be. She can't BE that bland and still get it.
DIDN'T KNOW she has a husband. shocked
